Hey everyone! So I just checked my status on the financial aid site and my status hasnt changed saying that they received my spring grades and i will recieve a decision by mid-July. Does anyone else still have that status cuz it seems like everyone else’s app has been “acted on”?

wow.
9,750+ applicants…

Okay. I’m definitely losing hope.

mayonizzle–
I’m stuck on that status as well.

yep mayo me too

AMorrison that sucks. those numbers are horrible im scared now. how were your spring grades (assuming you had an SGR) if you dont mind?

I called today and theyre still reviewing my application…uh seriously. it’s been so long.

i’m really sorry to hear that AMorrison. have you considered an appeal? yours stats were very impressive…i am honestly surprised that they would turn you down.

everyone still waiting, don’t get too worried. if your status hasn’t changed to “forwarded for review” then they just haven’t started looking at your application yet. i don’t think that them taking FOREVER on your app means anything bad. if it changes to forwarded and the next day you still can’t log in, then it may be a different story…

PS
new layout?? is that just me? lol

no its not just you marco lol
i think its a new layout.

I’m starting to get really freaked out. If AMorisson didn’t make it, where does that put me? My stats are way lower… and I sent in my grades earlier, but they still haven’t changed my status…

it doesn’t make sense to me that they would reject AMorrison, but you shouldn’t base your chances off of other people either. i know i sound generic, but every applicant is different, so who knows what will happen. i really hope everyone gets in though! you all deserve it!!! tomorrow better bring some status updates!!! i am anxious for all of you!!

yah this is a new layout i think its the first thing that it says on the forum ahaha. so this lady wasnt super helpful in that when I asked so we should hear by mid-july right and she was like yah. “so by the end of this week then?” and she said “they’ll try”…THEYLL TRY?! ,

COLLEGEHOPEFUL!
When I called, I asked what they considered “mid-July” and the lady was like the middle of July. around July 15th but there are no guarantees.
WOW how ambiguous is that. -______________- I have a good feeling about today one of us should hear~!!!
I think there is no point of calling the admissions office. The lady also told me they don’t even start reviewing the SGRs until ALL the spring grades come in which is in Mid July. righttttttt.

I haven’t considered an appeal, although maybe I should. I’ll look into that today.

I did get an SGR, I had a 4.0 my spring semester, 3.88 over all (4.0’s all semesters except 1, last summer). I’m a bit of a weird case, in that I work full time (40 hours a week) in an office job. I also had only completed 27 units by the end of Spring (I’ll have 31 at the end of summer. Because of my work demands, I take about 3 classes a semester. I also tested out of high school early, so I did not take the SATs. If they were considering my high school record because of my lack of units, this may have killed me.

Good luck to you all, I know the wait is tough but it will all be over soon.

Also - GLOR, I wouldn’t worry so much about your grades. I saw someone else in another thread get accepted with a 3.2, I think - and they failed some classes in the Spring semester putting them at a 2.9.

i mean a lot of sgrs have heard already…so i dont think they’re waiting lol. i would really like to know soon. ahah considering there were people on here who turned in their grades WAAAYY after I did and heard WAYYY before.

So instead of appealing (it sounds like they aren’t accepting these any longer?), I sent an e-mail asking for advice on transferring next year to my admissions counselor. Hopefully he’ll let me know what I was lacking, and I’ll pass this on to you guys if it would be helpful.

Damn I have a 3.56 and i got a 4.0 in spring quarter with about 94 quarter units. kinda makes me wonder why they gave me an SGR instead of rejection
my status is still ‘they received my spring grades’

AMorrison, USC clearly states that they will focus primarily on your HS record if you have completed less than 30 units. If this is so, lacking the SAT definitely messed you up.

Grey - Yes, I know, I was just taking a shot. I explained my situation in detail in my application and thought they would over look it (I’ve been out of high school for six years), but maybe they didn’t. If that’s the case, perhaps it bodes well for next year.

You can appeal, but don’t put much faith into it–chances are not that good. They do process appeals much quicker than they do regular applications. I sent my appeal FedEx and got the result within the week–not with the result I had hoped.

It is what it is though. I wanted to attend USC so much, but It just wasn’t meant to be…

I’m sorry hippo :(. Where are you going instead?

I will be attending school in the Socialist Republic of Berkeley.

Ah! My hometown. Bring your birkenstocks!

In all seriousness, I miss it up there. San Francisco is an awesome town and weather is great.
