USC 2010 Transfer Thread

ok so my spring semester ends on april 16 excluding exams so i think i will send them in. also i am going to El Salvador for the month of may and if i do not get any notification by then, then i will that grade as well.

is it just me or does everyone check this everyday?

i think the 2 different status could be from some of us not completing both part 1 & 2 of the app

If the acceptance is a big packet, and the rejection is a small envelope, what is the SGR in? I’ve always been curious…

Small envelope, it’s just two pages with instructions on how to send in the grades.

I sent in Parts 1 and 2 of the application.

i only sent in part II so that could be the reason

@MBtown

I definitely check it everyday. Haha. :D

@frantastic

good, i feel better that i am not the only obsessed one

I check everyday; 3-5 times per day. ha.

Which status does everyone refer to… the one on USConnect or the one on OASIS?

yeah i check atleast once a day! im trying to cut back, because thats what i did all last year and it made the wait seem a million times longer. currently my status reads “We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.”

I am a freshman, community college student, with around 20 semester units and a 4.0 gpa, but i dont know if that effects the status

I am applying to Marshall as a freshman and completed 3/4 pre req last semester with a 4.0 gpa and i am taking the 4th pre req and will finish all the GEs after this semester do you think I will still receive a SGR? Or is it possible I am accepted without having to wait for a SGR? I am just wondering because I dont want to wait, I am pretty sure I should maintain my gpa.

Yah I have 46 units as of right now, I applied to Thornton so my app was due December 1st, it’s been the same since I applied. I sent in my Fall grades around January after they came out… so I wonder why our statuses are different. I sent in a part one application as well, but under a different email address so maybe that’s why?

ahh!! judgement day is right around the corner. SO NERVOUS

I’m surprised. I’m the first trying to get out of UCLA.

When exactly do acceptances start coming out?

And, on top of that… Realistically speaking, when should I be expecting some type of notification? If I sent my stuff in near the end of December? I need to know if I am putting a study abroad deposit down or not on May 1st for UCLA, and the USC admissions team is oh so helpful with their generic copy and paste from the website.

Thanks!

@Nicole B

Last year, at the earliest, USC started sending out acceptance decisions in late April. However, most decisions were sent out in mid-late May. I think that it is a fair indication of when we should receive them this year.

@cd720 Based on what I’ve seen, the timing of the decisions letter has more to do with what your major is than when you submitted the application - basically, I don’t think submitting early will get you a decision any sooner. The chance of getting your decision before your May 1 is remote, so I would try to plan ahead with the knowledge that you will have no additional knowledge before having to decide if you want to put down your deposit. If anything, you might only get lucky if Marshall accepts some transfer before this deadline and they post their stats giving you an indication of what USC is accepting this year; although I don’t know how strong of an indication that would be for you since you are transferring form ucla and most people are transferring from community colleges.

That being said, emailing them is going to get you nowhere very slowly. You’ll definitely have better luck calling them, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Is anyone else amazed at how fast June 1st is creeping up? It only seems like yesterday when I was stressing over every minor detail of the application…

It is crazy to think that in 6-8 weeks we’ll have our decisions!

What “USC ID” are you all using for Oasis? I can’t seem to get access to it.
