just an fyi…
my admission letters are dated 4/9/10

Congratulations, Samuel. That’s exciting news. Makes all of us more anxious, too!

Has anyone looked through previous years to see when transfers typically are notified? I know last year it was April 27th or so. What about in the years prior to that?

hey sorry if this question was answered before but I don’t think I could of got through 170+ pages on this thread…Thanks

Does USC offer housing to applicants coming in as Sophomores?

Congrats Samuel!

samuel, did your package come through the regular mail or through DHL?

@Broncos- USC does offer housing, but from what I’ve read opportunities are very limited. So limited that the majority of us probably won’t get housing.

Congrats samuelkim1990!

I am so surprised that they have already started to send out decisions letters; I still have the “We have received and are currently reviewing…” status. Hopefully some of us will continue to receive decisions within the next few weeks!

Congrats Samuel.

Ah that is going to make me really nervs now!

regular snail mail… doubt anyone would get it through dhl -_-;
i live in socal so thats why i guess it took only a day?

I was browsing the Freshman threads and most of them got their packages via DHL.

@wghiller thanks

and for the DHL packages those were for international students

admitted student’s packages were sent through USPS priority mail and rejections were through snail mail

@dbroncos23: I’m applying as a sophomore and I filled out the housing application on the [USC StarRez Portal](https://housing.usc.edu/Portal/Default.aspx?Params=L9ezxPcQnQsKfjb/N3ih6r%2BT/UHqWA5N) sometime in February. I heard that freshman should apply for housing as soon as they were accepted, so I got fairly nervous about whether transfers could even get housing their first year at SC, so I emailed housing and they said:
“Students who have applied for USC can submit a housing application as long as they have a USC ID number to register with the USC Housing website. This is required in order to submit an online application for USC Housing. While it can sometimes be difficult to house transfer students, we are usually able to offer a good majority of those who apply a space within USC Housing. This does include, however, off-campus apartments.”

@dchrysler

So basically after you submitted your application, you filled out the housing application, not knowing whether you were accepted or not? Sorry, but I don’t think I understood.

Btw, I applied to USC as a freshman this year but was denied admission. I’m just gathering some information gathered up so when the time comes next year to apply as transfer, I’ll have some better information.

Wait so Samuel, what kind of package did it come in? USPS priority?

mmm i was just saying i have no idea
someone else in my house got it
i will ask them…
if you get it through priority does that mean the officer knocks on your house??

No clue. I think you do have to sign for USPS priority but I could be wrong. All I know is that it would be in a bigger envelope.

It all would depend. I’ve seen an acceptance package from USC. My friend received one, as well as Duke, and UPenn. Haha. Lucky kid. But anyways it’s a big white envelope and enclosed is a folder saying “Welcome to the Trojan Family”. On the package it read “Priority Mail”. It was also dated on a Friday, which it the day USC seems to send out its packages. As SamKim said: the letter was postmarked April 9, and he received it the next day, due to the proximity.

@dbroncos23: Yeah, I’ve already applied for housing but I haven’t gotten a decision yet. I was really confused when I was trying to figure it out, but as long as you’ve applied to USC and have a USCID number, you can apply for housing. I know that if I get into SC, I’m going. If I go, I want to make sure I do everything I possibly can to get housing. I figure that if I get in, it gives me a better chance at getting housing, and if I don’t, then I just don’t finish the application because the application isn’t actually considered “complete” until housing is secured.

Congratulations Samuel!

Can’t wait for the rest of us to hear!
