so why hasnt USC showed me some love yet? a status change soon please! KTHXBAI

Been asking myself the same thing Dainese. Lets hope we get the update this week.

I wonder how long we keep the “We are currently reviewing your application…” status before it changes to the “The committee is reviewing your application…” status.

my first major is in Viterbi. COME ON

@TheGoldFinch at least your status doesn’t say “We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have.” mine has said that for the longest time and i turned everything in too hope i see some change soon!

Oh god, that would stress me out so much. Have you called them? I would do that asap. They originally said they hadn’t received two of my documents so I gave them a call. They told me they had them and that they would input them immediately. You should definitely call them today.

honestly i called 4 times and they told me all 4 times that i have everything in but then i ask why hasn’t my status changed and they told me not to worry but they really dont give me a proper explanation on why that is i could understand if i was missing something but they keep telling everything is in so idk what to do im a worried bc in reading all this i dont hear anyone speaking of having my staus i might call again today i just dont know what else to ask them anymore haha

Status changes should start happening in early may. There really is no pattern to the way they update them. Sometimes Viterbi starts early, sometimes CLAS, somtimes Thornton–there really is nothing set in how they start. Annenberg typically does seem to start later though…

The only constant I’ve seen is after it changes to the “committee is reviewing…” status and then quickly (under a week) changes to the “the committee has acted…” status, is that it usually indicates an acceptance. If you’re stuck on the “committee is reviewing…” status for a long period of time, it typically indicates a rejection, as rejection notices are the last thing to go out.

@hippo status changes have already started to happen, and Viterbi is almost always the first to send out acceptances

@hippo - is there a time if the status has not changed to give up?

also

@Nicole I think we are both applying to LMU (if not then nevermind) but whoever was… I called and they did recieve my application, but apparently not my transcripts… they said that they are still trying to organize everyones apps

@ rhandler33-- Aside from Viterbi have there really been any status changes to the “The committee is reviewing…” status? I haven’t seen anyone mention it.

No but there has been status changes from the basic one you get after everything is received to the one that says pretty much the same thing but that you’ll hear back by June 1st

mine changed to “committee is reviewing” a couple days ago. does that mean i will hear from them soon?

I think so, yes. You applied to Marshall, very interesting! Perhaps they are now reviewing apps.

I applied to Marshall as well, but my status only reads “We are reviewing your application.”

I dont think it has anything to do with the individual school because first the admissions office has to look at it, then when they render a decision, it is then passed onto each respective school for review. I know a guy who was accepted to Marshall in the latter-half of April, while I’ve also read that on here that other Marshall applicants were accepted throughout the entire month of may. Perhaps mreddiee was just at the top of the stack of applications?

Looks like my list was a little off:

Still no status update here. I’m applying to a 4-year program that only accepts 25-26 people, so I really wonder how many freshman have already taken spots. There may only be 1-2 spots left for transfers. I wonder if they’ve even looked at my application yet. Doesn’t appear so based on status updates. I love stressing out :)

@skyline- do you want my information for your list?

Bus Admin
Applying as: Junior
overall GPA: 3.85
saddleback college
units completed: 52.5 (taking 18 for spring, for a total of 70.5 units)

i’m pretty sure someone’s answered this before (but i cant seem to find the answer that im looking for) but i go to a quarter unit school (CSU-Pomona). by the end of the spring quarter, i will have 48 quarter units, of which 32 are directly transferable based on an articulation agreement. the other 16 are related to my business major so i am not sure if they can be counted for credit.

technically speaking, 1 quarter unit = .667 semester units***. In the case that I am slightly short of the 30 unit mark, how much will my high school grades affect the admission decision, particularly for Marshall or as an econ major?
