they only accept a few business calculus classes. just because the school has the class doesn’t mean they will take it…make sure to check with the transfer agreement.

Business majors CAN infact use the first semester of the normal Calculus sequence in place of the business calculus. It says it straight on the articulation sheets for Marshall. I asked that question over a year ago and they said it was fine.

@rhandler33

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I was doing all of this stuff, picking out classes, going through articulation agreements and trying to match them up (since I’m out of state) when someone said that Marshall is changing their courses they require. I don’t know if there is any truth to this but I emailed them, and no response. Also, on their website it states: ** Advisement Sheets for 2010-2011 Coming Soon** so maybe there is some truth to the statement.

@dbroncos

yeah they are changing up their requirements; they also pick which classes can transfer from certain colleges on a yearly basis. i wanted to take a business calc class at a local CC, but it was not transferrable. Sooo I have to take one at a school about an hour and a half away every Tuesday and Thursday night. It’s great haha

@rhandler33

I hope they post the new requirements soon. But hey that’s showing the commitment and determination to get the class done just to satisfy USC’s requirement. I’m sure they’ll appreciate that.

Yeah well I’m sure they have no idea that it is an hour and a half away haha. Just four more weeks until the majority of my classes are done!

@hellostranger57

I called in to the admissions office at Annenberg a few weeks ago, and they told me that the average transfer GPA for admitted students for all of Annenberg (Communications, PR, Journalism) last year was 3.69.

So compared to last year’s acceptances, we could start hearing back as soon as next week??

@lustrus- its always a possibility. we wont know until people begin to post that theyre in the mail.

greaaat, ucla is coming out this week also. this week will determine my future.

Edit: DUN DUN DUN

@slowmotion you probably won’t hear back from usc this week…or next week…or the week after that.

I hope I hear from them before May 1st because I’ll have to make my deposit to another school by then. Anyone else with the same dilemma?

@ phloser

Same situation. I have to put my UT deposit down by May 1st.

Beat the thunder!!!

@frantastic! really? wow that’s good news! i’m above 3.69 so i’m now hoping for the best! did you apply to annenberg as well?

@phloser- I have the same issue, I have till may31/june1 to commit to either UofA or UOregon if USC were to deny for some reason. thats not my issue as much as ensuring on-campus housing at either of those schools.

@ phloser
Yup same boat! Only I have until April 30

Maybe USC will try to rush their decisions knowing UCLA’s is coming out this week. I know UCLA freshman undergrad decisions came out first this year, and USC didn’t want to be too far behind. They didn’t want to lose highly qualified applicants to UCLA. I’m sure this pertains to transfers applicants as well.

sorry to burst your bubble but there is no way that most of us will hear before May, heck most of us wont hear until late May. Yes, some of you will hear before then, but the majority of us wont. This is my 2nd time applying as a transfer and I know that they will not be 1 month ahead of schedule.

@dbroncos23 USC has known when UCLA’s decisions were going to come out for a while now, and they have known every other year and it hasn’t prompted them to rush their decisions for transfers before, so I don’t think so. Its going to be the same that it has been every year before with SC not telling the vast majority of us until late May. I wish it weren’t true, but USC doesn’t care THAT much about UCLA.
