USC 2010 Transfer Thread

has anyone emailed them to see what date they will begin to mail out decisions regularly?

There is no set date, and even if there was, it’s highly doubtful that they would tell you.

In past years, it seems to have gone in waves. As for a pattern in how they send them out, it beats me, but there seems to be a general correlation between acceptance date and major. However, nothing with USC admissions is absolute.

yea thats what I figured as well. just checking. the waves of acceptances sent out, do you think they are general acceptances, as in all different schools? or do you think like its a Marshall wave, followed by a Vertibi wave, then a Thorton wave, etc.?

See third sentence.

Application Status:

The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.
Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Dear applicant, please stop checking this so much as you are slowing down our servers. We will accept you now just for you to stop checking this every 5 minutes. Congrats…

So am i in?

Soon my dog of war.

LOL, sooo true! I wonder if they can see how many times we view it. I know in high school my teachers could see how often we checked grades.

LOL, Im sure they dont give a sh1t. its all good, im sure part of this whole thing is probably to get us all amped up on getting in and everything.

last year stat there was ppl with 2.99 GPA who got in???
does USC look at EC a lot?
I think they look at personal statement a lot tho…

They look at everything. not just gpa. The rep to my CC told me they want a whole well rounded student, not just someone who can study for 60 hours a week and get a 4.0.

@rbkhoops21 it probably doesn’t work on most school servers because they usually keep the pop-up blocker on…

Ugh so frustrating. We’re doing appointment positions for ASI (student government) now and I’m planning on filling a position in the cabinet for next year if I don’t end up going to USC.

The problem is I need to know SOON. Geeze. My life is put on pause while I wait for this dang letter hahah.

@deborahmei - I could have ran for re-election as student body president this year and wish I would have in retrospect since I didn’t end up transferring last year. Cabinet positions are easy to fill if someone has to resign for whatever reason so I’d suggest you go for it just as a backup :)

so does anyone know the deal with summer classes? i heard they have to be approved by USC or something if you are going to take them at your current university or a nearby community college. do they still have to be approved even though we have not been accepted yet? and if we are accepted, how will this change?

when do u have to submit your SIR to USC by?

Anyone know how housing works? When do we need to start trying to figure that out? I am a little worried since we might not hear back until late for USC and don’t want to be stuck without a nice apartment.

@Lustrous

Did you want to live on campus? Someone on here said they started the application, I guess all you need is your USC ID. It seems you complete as much of the application, and then if you’re accepted you finish it.

what is the date you have to let usc know that you are going to come there
