@phloser - Consider the fact that a majority of the short answers probably mention what USC has to offer. Often times in admissions they value creativity and originality as top schools prefer diversity in students and their personalities so I wouldn’t worry too much :)

■■■■ mine sucks compared to all of those. just another thing for me to worry about ahhhhhhhhh.

status update change

applying as a History Major 3.4… God speed to all

@daisydaisy - For my short answer I just typed baconbaconbaconbacon! over and over. So no need to worry cause you did better than me at least! :D

This is mine for the academic interests shot answer :D!

As a business finance major, I would like to enter Marshall School of Business and study many of the frontiers relating to corporate financing and business management. In order to truly understand and become successful in financing and in the business world, I plan on engaging myself to various business programs provided by USC. Programs like the Society and Business Lab (SBL) will prepare me for solving critical problems that affect the business world. By partaking in SBL I will be able to continue to train my skills of working as team, while at the same time strengthening my abilities to lead. SBL is one of the many programs that lays out the foundations and vital skills to becoming successful in not only financing, but in all concentrations of business. I am also planning on joining business clubs such as USC’s American Finance Association (AFA) so I can be more acquainted with current events within the finance world. I would also like to join the AFA to establish an avenue of networking with current students and USC alumni. These plans are my current prospects for pursuing a degree in finance at USC, however, I am sure that if I were admitted to USC, I would discover other avenues and opportunities that would broaden my plans and academic interests.

@foodmunkee’s academic interests - I think your response is VERY legit and really shows how you would honestly pursue a degree in sociology by understanding and familiarizing yourself with current issues dominant in our society as well as your interests in Korean culture and applying it to your own studies/prospects. This response alone really justifies you as a qualified applicant for your intended major! Props!

@xdzzz and foodmunkee You guys have the best answers for that questions because of how specific you guys get. Great fricken job

edit::@kulakai nevermind, bacon over and over again? dude BEST IDEA EVER…who doesn’t like bacon?

@SFwarrior GOOD LUCK MAN! CROSS YOUR FINGERS!! I’LL KEEP MINE CROSSED FOR EVERYONE ELSE HERE!

@SFwarrior

seems like they are on the same path as last year! I’m guessing you are one of the first batch of applicants that they are reviewing, and since you live in NorCal (I think), there’s a good chance you might get a physical mail notice in two weeks.

I wish I was in that position, three big school decisions in three weeks! (possibly)

I wrote about how business improves the human condition.

Good luck, SFWarrior. Good to see someone who just received the first status update be escalated so quickly. Does your backdoor work?

@xdzzzrawr and rhandler33: hahaha thanks!!! :D

@xdzzzrawr: Dang dude, your short answer is really REALLY, and I mean REALLY excellent. What I like about your response is that you specifically state how the clubs/organizations you want to join will be integrating you more deeply into the business industry. I believe the admissions counselors will also be impressed because you fuse the “Trojan Family” ideals into your short answer by discussing about networking and the like. :D

My dream job is a “marathon-running KPMG partner” :P

I listed “Writer for ‘The Office’” as my dream job.
