arcadefire1027 - you must be riding on a cloud right now buddy!! i hope to feel what you’re feeling within the next few weeks.

You have to GOT to be kidding me. They got Turnitin.com for admissions now. I guess no more recycling the same essay for multiple school applications -_-

Anyways I don’t think posting here will be a biggie tho hahahaha

@foodmunkee - ahhhh crap!!! haha.

does anyone know how to delete a post? my post doesn’t have that “edit” button anymore :(

So UCLA is Friday, Berkeley the next and USC is whenever? Man, USC does what they want when it comes to admissions, lol.

Yeah I’m in the same boat, this friday for UCLA, next friday for Berk, and absolutely no idea about USC :D

Why are people thinking UCLA is this coming Friday… just based on the timing the lsat couple of years? If only SC would do everything this Friday too!!

Well UCLA is said to be LATE April, and Berkeley is the last day of April.

Yeah, last year the UCLA decisions were posted on April 24th, which was the Friday before the last week of April. Plus, they say late April, not the “end” of April. It seems that schools release decisions at the end of the day on Fridays so they don’t get bombarded with calls.

Yahh, the calls part makes sense. Anyone know what time they usually release them?

Last year, people started posting their decisions at 4:25, so I’d say between 4:00 & 5:00pm. I’m applying to Communication Studies though which is crazy impacted so I’m not expecting to get in. Avg. GPA for Comm was 3.93 last year, I have 3.87. If I don’t get in, it’s USC or bust.

@Lustrous That’s because USC is top B. She’ll send out acceptance/rejection letters when she wants to. Whatever she says goes!

Can I get an amen to that!?

USC doesn’t sleep… she waits…

USC takes the same mentality it does with admissions as it does with recruiting football players. Either you want to goto USC or you don’t. They know they can get the best students, just like they can get the best football players. Lane Kiffin said it best when he said, “We know after 5 minutes when this guy wants to goto USC and when he wants to goto the OTHER GUYS.”

Oh, and heres my answer for the academic interests question…

I am absolutely in love with the business and, more over, the economic worlds. My dad became a financial
advisor the year I was born and I have been watching programs such as Jim Cramer’s Mad Money on CNBC
ever since. After my senior-year in high school, I received an internship from UBS Financial Services, Inc., and my dreams of becoming a Trojan and entering into the Marshall School of Business took off. Resources
extended to you at USC exceed those of any school. I will use these resources to their full advantage upon
admission until I finish my bachelors and masters degrees.

And my dream job was CEO/CFO of a financial corporation or financial advisor

I think the earliest we’ll hear back from USC is 1-2 weeks after Berkeley.
*Although I think for many of us it will be a SGR.

So for those of us that applied to UCLA, UCB and USC, the next 4 weeks should be very interesting!

@ everyone who replied to the academic interests question, everyone has amazing responses! usc will be lucky to have each and every one of us :)

@ the “turnitin” thing, i doubt usc would take the time to use it for the short answers. in any case, these responses are loooong after the application deadline, so you’re safe :)

YAAAAAAY!!! TIME TO PoST MINE MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA :D

As a prospective student to major in Sociology, I sincerely hope to enrich my studies by participating in research, particularly in the area regarding minority families. I feel that working on a research project as an undergraduate Sociology student is necessary, because it gives one a raw first-hand experience and insight into the fieldwork component of research. Because of this, I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Professor Elaine Bell Kaplan, whose current in-depth research on immigrant students and their families has gained my attention. Currently, Professor Kaplan is working on her new research project, “A Study of First Generation College Students by Race, Class and Gender”. The study specifically focuses on how thirty Black and Latino students from predominantly low-income neighborhoods juggle academic achievement and family life with negative pressures such as drug abuse and gang involvement. Coming from the position of an outsider who grew up in the suburbs, I am keenly interested in how these teens deal with such enormous pressures, specifically because they live in an inner-city setting. However, if I am not given my first choice major, I plan to major in East Asian Languages and Cultures with the intention of nurturing a deeper understanding of my Korean heritage and improving my Korean language skills. As a second-generation Korean American, I grew up with limited exposure to Korea’s history and to its traditions and culture. Moreover, most of my knowledge of the Korean language has all but slipped from my mind. If I am granted my first choice major of Sociology, I will minor in East Asian Languages and Culture, due to my strong interest in my Korean background.

Sorry it’s so long…I was caught up in the moment when I was writing my answer hahaha

so i got nothing from USC today. another day.
