USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@rhandler33: My HS gpa was 1.7. I almost got kicked out of school. TWICE… haha… too much drinking, smoking and all those crap back then. haha

Now my gpa is about 3.85 with over 60 credits.

at least, this spiced up my personal statement!

This is the beauty of the American education system. damn, if only Asian countries could follow!

!!!The ability to give anyone willing to make a difference in their lives a second chance!!!

@samuelkim: I’m an international out of state student. Americans are getting it now too so i can assume that USC is sending it out irregardless of nationality or whether your are in-state or oos.

@OOStudnet I’m sure it did…my GPA was low for the same reason(drinking, smoking), but also because I was concentrating too much on sports. It’s a beautiful thing getting a second chance

My status has been changed. I’m so excited  (Marshall)

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Your application has been forwarded for committee review.

@rhandler33: You will get in! USC looks at the character of each applicant most importantly and dont worry, you got it.

@samuelkim1990: Hey on the enrollment commitment deposit section, are you attending summer orientation or are you gonna attend on-campus international orientation session?

So who all is still holding out until Tuesday to check their statuses? I’ve made it from late Saturday until now, but I’m dying to check it!

@WinnietheJason WOW! You are making me realllllllllly nervous and excited at the same time! I now know they’re finally beginning to officially review Marshall apps! GOOD LUCK TO YOU!! Did you get the status changed to being forwarded to the committee today?

@winnetheJason:

That status means that you will know your decision REAL SOON. I had that only for 2 days before it changed to a “decision will be mailed”.

All the best, getting that so early in the game would only mean that they shortlisted you.

Hope for good news in a couple of days!

@WinnietheJason: Looks like my hunch that Marshall applicants would undergo their reviews by Thursday or Friday has been trumped.

I hope to see you at Marshall. :)

Can you post your stats, please?

QQ…no status change

is it possible to receive no status change and get the package? lol

What’s a good GPA for me in order to get into school of engineering and get good aid?

****. marshall statuses changing? Im nervous. I’m going on a run then going to math, I cant take this.

four point o

hahaha Dainese I’m in the same boat as you dude. As for receiving the package without a status change, that’d be a miracle :D

@midknite: so far the people getting accepted into viterbi, have at least a 3.8

im hoping to one day see a fat package in my mailbox.
these status changes are a tease.

applying as a sophomore from CC for theatre. currently my application is “being reviewed” whatever that really means haha. congrats to everyone who has already heard. i’m getting nervous.

@everyone Please help calm my nerves! So my first year grades at my CC was horrible…after that time I stepped up my game completely and repeated the few classes I took that year and got A’s in all of them, as well as A’s in all the other classes I have taken(except for one which I received a B). After this semester, I will have a 3.91 GPA in the past year and a half(with about 50 units completed in that time period), and a 3.7X overall(I applied with a 3.55). Do you think I have a chance with my “upward trend”?

@jcarroll6 I broke down and checked mine last night. I keep checking it on my phone too and I always get excited because it looks longer because the screen is so small, however I still have the lame status… that nobody else has.

Still have this status. For the longest time ever
