USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@rcwhite Nice stats! Alright sweet, that’s good to hear. I was getting worried. I’ll have exactly 30 units done by the end of spring.

@all three of the veterans(and anymore if you’re on here) thank you all for serving.

@xdzzzrawr thank you for the kind words. man its just this process is getting at me…i just want to know already!!

@rhandler i meant to respond when you wrote the beginning of your essay or short answer but i thought it was really good. if you wrote the rest like that and have that huge upward trend in grades i think you shouldn’t be too worried

in high school i started out doing well but then started hanging out with the wrong crowds too, with around a 3.3 or so pretty consistently. i visited USC in the summer after junior year and even though it didn’t really matter at that point, that motivated me to do better. i tried really hard 1st semester senior year (even with senioritis) and got a 4.3… now whenever i’m debating to sleep or pull an all nighter, i just look at the USC admit stats/pics and videos of campus and i bet you can guess which i choose…

Does anyone know when USC is most likely to send out their decisions??

@trojanhopeful thank you so much. i hope we all get in :/…wow a 4.3 with senioritis…man you should get a medal for that haha.

@girlinpinkscarf they roll out decisions in waves depending on the school you applied to

I just cracked…no status change though

@tbibbs- lol, I fAckin hope your dream was a vision. lol, I need a win.

@rhandler33- Dont worry. Just do well this semester, if they ask for a SGR, your grades this semester will erase all doubt in their head. I feel that trend is more important than actual gpa. if you explained what happened, it might even help your case. I went to a transfer session and they said that they tailor their programs and admissions review so that they see that and in fact a suprising amount of people they accept really mess up at first, but turn it around and thrive.

@tbibbs- actually a may 2 date isnt impossible I think because if theyre really sent out on fridays, they could get here sunday easily.

Ahoy there, long time lurker, just posting here to say that I got an update today!

“Your application has been forwarded for committee review.”

I checked this morning, and my status hadn’t changed, and after classes (about 5 hours later) that came up!

So nervous!

(CLAS, Poli Sci)

@all marshall applicants-- Any other prospective marshall applicants get a status change yet?

not me =/ i got the “we are reviewing your application” status kinda early too…

@benito Good luck man! What are your stats?

the mail came in this afternoon!!

OFFICIAL ACCEPTED into USC!!!

@OOSstudent- Congrats. I knew it was gonna be an acceptance.

thanks SouthOCtrojan, you were a great support! and now, its my turn to support you!

hey hopefully we can hang out on a day when u are done with classes in USC

@OOSstudent- yea, im keeping my fingers crossed. I just I get my packet this weekend. so stressed from school and this admissions process, could use the win really badly hahha. yea lets hope we will have the ability to do so in the fall.

When did you get your ‘we are reviewing your application’ status change?

@OOSstudent
Congrats!!

Btw I know this is a little off topic, but do any of you guys know some CSS/coding websites? I need help with something really quick…

if i remember correctly, you had the “thank you for applying…” status right? i had that too until a couple days ago. i suggest you call the Admissions Office (they are super nice!) and ask them whats up because for me it turned out that they couldnt charge my credit card with the application fee so they hadnt even looked at my application i guess.

so maybe something like that is holding up your status update and application review.
good luck :D

oh, does anyone know what the deciding factor would be between USC rejecting or SGR-ing an applicant?

also, if they slap you with an SGR and your spring grades were consistent with your previous grades (as in mostly A’s), are you pretty much guaranteed in? or is it still a crapshoot? like if i got an SGR and my grades were good, should i expect to be accepted? or should i continue not knowing what to expect?

thanks :D
