USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@Dainese HAHA yes we can and I wish so badly that everyone of us here can get in!

@Dainese dude FOR SURE MAN hahaha :D

http://hphotos-sjc1.fbcdn.net/hs461.snc3/25316_409003373981_768718981_5100102_1236377_n.jpg

story of our lives.

@Dainese
Absolutely man. We’ll have to rock CC name tags so we can find each other.

Lets hope that we see some major progress in terms of status updates and acceptances this week. Good night!

after reading through these essays, I just realized how much mine sucks! lol it had nothing to do with why I want to go to USC or my intellectual/academic interests or even really about me. crapcrapcrap. but it did answer the prompt…

Hey guys quick question;

Is USC dependent on the IGETC?
I’ve completed everything on it except for the transfer level math requirement which is kinda 50/50 right now as to whether or not i’ll pass the class this semester.

As you can imagine am kinda freaking out.

:/

@Dainese: MvC3 – let’s hope they keep it true to its colors and really upgrade the graphics. Personally, I’m a Third Strike/SFIV fiend, but I love a good Marvel tango. Another game to add to Evolution. :)

@holidays - No, it’s a private school so its admission requirements are completely different than the CSU/UC system. Do you go to a CCC? If so, USC may have an Articulation Agreement with your school that you can look at to see what requirements you’ve already filled, as well as the math/English requirements.

https://camel.usc.edu/articagrmt/artic.aspx

@rhandler- Yeah, I see what you are saying. As a PR/Communications major I was trying to talk about something that was bigger than me and try to bring out the power of community when rallying around a common passion. I may not have conveyed that very well, it is so hard to do that with only one page. But, thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it.

@southOC- For some reason, people have some perception that Cypress was always good. We were horrible from the late 90s and all the way until my freshman year (2005 season when we were 2-8), it was bad. That’s funny, I never knew Laguna Hills was bad. You guys obviously got good because we played you guys my Junior year in the playoffs, it was a great game.

hey anyone here planning to live in a dorm on campus?

pm me please

@foodmunkee’s essay, that essay was bomb diggity/enlightenmen-esque/insightful! I was going to write a similar essay for my personal statement about deconstructing material wealth but didn’t have enough room to fit in the 750 word limit, you touch on this topic beautifully in such a personalized manner that I thought was quite clever and genuine. I’m planning on elaborating this idea of material wealth and community awareness like you did in my scholarship essay (I have my own ideas dont worry :P), very well done. It’s nice to see others who have developed such a mature philosophy that many college/adults are never able to grasp simply because they are so immersed in themselves with materialism/consumerism. AWEEEESOME!

@OOS- Is it possible for us to live in dorms? I would love to, but I didn’t even bother to apply because I figured they were all be full…and that no one else here would be interested in doing so, lol.

I cracked and sent my admissions counselor an e-mail today. She probably gets a lot of them. I’m getting really anxious–I didn’t apply anyone here else out-of-state, but I did apply somewhere else locally where I was accepted, and they’re asking for an enrollment deposit. I’m trying to buy time lol.

@wghiller let us know what she says. I sure hope they don’t push this thing until June 1st, that would be unbearable.

How do we apply for housing?

@wghiller I’m feeling the same way!!! I’ve got finals coming up in less than 2 weeks. Then I’ve got to pack to sublet for the summer during the same week. And I have to coordinate a cross country move which I’m sure you do as well. And everyone is asking for every thing at the same time. Meanwhile USC which is my #1 hasn’t event say a word yet. We don’t even have an inkling of a set date. And SCA isn’t giving up any info… it’s so frustrating.

@jcarroll6: Housing Application

where do we get our student number and password for the housing app? do we have to be admitted first?

btw i’m not sure if it’s been answered but what’s the average transfer GPA into Marshall? Don’t you guys also find it interesting that Marshall has no language requirements? I would figure language would be a part of the business world especially now with global economy but I guess not.

@mstransfer The average Marshall transfer GPA hovers around 3.75-3.83, the average changes as each year goes by and it tends to get higher and higher since Marshall receives the most transfer applications. And yea Marshall not requiring a language requirement is strange, but I’m not complaining :smiley: took wayyyy too many years of foreign language.

just spoke with two marshall students yesterday who transferred and they said getting an A is near impossible … :(
