If they wanted your spring grades I don’t think it would say that it has been forwarded. I’m fairly certain that once it is at that point, they are making a decision.

Thank guys, thank gd for this thread it keeps me sane through all this

Do you guys really think that USC wont be sending out rejections this early?

@trojanfan13

I wasn’t trying to say you weren’t getting in or anything of that sort. I was just trying to make some conclusions based off the past applicants in this thread. Anyways good luck. Hoping to hear good news from you in a couple of days.

@TheGoldFinch

I don’t think they would send them out this early. I just don’t think you can say because your status changed early in the game it means you’re 100% in. It could always stay at “committee review” and then change during the last days. I know Freshman and Transfer Admissions are different but they also have their similarities. I remember my status changed pretty early to “committee review” and it was stuck there for about 1 month or so. I knew this meant rejection. I think the same could be said for transfer. To support my argument, my friend had his status change later than me, and he still got in.

@xdzzzrawr wow hahaha Thank you!!! I’m starting to feel really happy right now
You made my day hahahhaha :D

hey guys, a while back I think a couple of you had a question about taking summer courses (especially if your from an out of state school)… somebody mentioned that you had to get your course approved from USC before hand and how it was confusing because we don’t even know if we are in yet

i don’t feel like explaining everything i asked so i’ll just copy and paste it:

Q:

Ms. Mathis,

I know you are still very busy with the admissions process but I have a quick question about taking summer classes this summer. I was wondering how this process works since I am currently looking for a class or two to take at a local community college or at the University of Maryland (the university I currently attend). I have heard that students currently at USC have to get summer classes taken at other places approved by USC first, and they also have to make sure that those credits will successfully transfer over to USC.

Since I currently do not know if I will be accepted into USC next year, do I have to get my summer class approved by both the University of Maryland and USC? And if I take it at a local community college, will the credits have to be transferred to Maryland and then to USC (if I’m accepted)?

Sorry for the confusing question, but I am trying to finish planning my summer and am just confused about the whole process.

A:

Feel free to take the courses you would like this summer at the University of Maryland without USC approval. Bear in mind, most academic courses taken are transferrable. Be sure to submit all of your transcripts from any school you attend, a community college or university. We will transfer units directly from the institution in which you took the courses. Take care!

just thought that might answer your question if anybody else was wondering the same thing

heyy guys just wondering…

what do i do n what does this mean??
:(

also, this might be a little pathetic but does anyone know if it works to just keep the USConnect undergraduate application page (where it actually shows your status) open and then just refresh it? or do you have to sign in again and again to actually refresh it?

thought this might be helpful once i get the “forwarded to the committee” status because i’ll be checking about once a minute

wow guys, thanks for answering my question! lol. jk

here let me try again

Any of you guys didnt put an alternate or 2nd choice major? I was just wondering because I didnt. And now I’m worried that it might lessen my chances of getting in :/

@USC10
I would contact them. Maybe something is missing? I’m sure once you call they can put your worries to rest. Obviously, beside the long and arduous wait. Haha.

@hellostranger57
I think someone answered saying they only applied to Marshall. I would of put your second major down, because say if you don’t get into Marshall school, you might of gotten into the other school. I remember seeing how USC will automatically do this for you, if you had selected a second major.

@hellostranger57 If you don’t get in for the major you picked, you don’t have a backup plan. You should probably call your admissions counselor to add a second-choice major. It may not be too late

@USC10 - Don’t worry too much about it. If you look in the 2009 thread, A LOT of people had that status. Some for a very long time. If you want to ease your anxiety, give them a call.

@hellostranger57 - I put a 2nd choice major. I’m not sure what they do if you are not accepted into your first choice if you haven’t put down a 2nd choice. Maybe if you are a sophomore they could simply accept you as Undecided if you arent admitted for your 1st choice. But that is just a guess…

@dbroncos23 and @rhandler33 really? omg this makes me sooo nervous now
where can i find the number of my admissions counselor at USC? i really hope it’s not too late =/

Based on last year, it sounded like if they really want you, they will call you and ask if you’d consider a different major.

@hello - https://camel2.usc.edu/admceebsearch/ugappfindcounselor.aspx

USC10, since you’re a sophomore, you’re probably getting an SGR. In past years that status was an indicator of exactly that, an SGR.

Find them using the link. They’re extremely helpful and knowledgable so they should help you out. I’d call since this is a time sensitive issue.
