USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@sclove09 so do you think i should live at stardust?! It is seems super cheap… but idk… I was about to put my deposit down for gateway right before I got the email!

What do you guys think? Housing on campus or gateway?

@hstudent890 - It doesn’t mean anything. If accepted it can take up to 7 days for the enrollment information to pop up so you just need to wait a few days and try again.

@hstudent890- don’t worry about the box or baxkdoor method it’s likely good news if it only took 1 day to change status

For those worried, I spoke with an admissions counselor about what the forwarded status means. They told me (not sure if they were trying to be nice, but they sounded genuine) that often the statuses online are not updated and that it doesn’t mean that you’ve been rejected. It just means that they may have not gotten to your application yet.

On another note, she also said that not all the acceptance packets have been mailed or even decided yet…

I tried the backdoor method a week ago and got user is not authorized, but today I keep getting just a blank white screen.

Does any know anything about Annenberg House??? I got my housing assignment and I wanted to know if anyone has any information that they can share on anything they have heard or if anyone else got Annenberg for their housing assignment too

@alittle33: yea i got a blank screen too, i think the enrollment box site is down

Does anyone know when registration opens up for transfers? I have submitted my $300 deposit. I doubt I’ll be attending orientation since I’m coming from NC.

@olyWA90

In regards to your questions about SCA:

Yes, my status changed. It went from forwarded to acted on in one day.

They mailed out my packet May 20 and I got it May 22.

I submitted my application one or two weeks before the deadline.

@VicEvo

same blank here too, you must be right.

RE: HOUSING

Before I submit my stuff to Gateway–is there anywhere that is just as close to USC(or at least almost), that is almost as nice as Gateway BUT you get your own room? That would be really nice.

@wghiller

I’d like to know that also.

This is getting really annoying. One teach won’t post my grade and I really need to get my transcripts to USC so I can get in already. On top of that, I have surgery today and won’t be able to get back home until Monday :(

One lazy teacher can really screw a lot up

And if we get in for SGR, which could be in July, what do we do about housing?!?! I really want a studio lol

@Eraser- The registration or transfer question? I ask a lot of um, haha.

@Lustrous - I am in the same position! My damn teacher didnt post my grade when it was due May 21! and now I have to wait until atleast June 2!!! GRRRRRRR

I just noticed under my Admission Documents it had “Grade Report” so that means they got my faxed individual class grades, but I still don’t have the update. I thought grade reports were acceptable for a SGR?

So they have my spring grades WHY DONT I HAVE AN UPDATE OR A DECISION!!! I am going crazy!!

@tbibbs After they get your grade report it doesn’t mean they’re going to start on your app right away. It’s still May 26th and alot of people are still either stuck on “We are still reviewing…June 1st” or “forwarded to committee” and seeing as how you’ve already been reviewed once, the admissions is going to focus on those who have not even had any update at all. But be at ease, after they finish after June 1st, they will start on those who have submitted their SGRs.

Does anyone know how to read or determine EFC? I went on the FAFSA website and they told me that EFC is: “Your EFC is not the amount of money your family will have to pay for college nor is it the amount of federal student aid you will receive. It is a number used by your school to calculate the amount of federal student aid you are eligible to receive.”

I saw how some of you knew what your EFC stood for, I was wondering if you guys could tell me what my EFC of 01901 stands for? And yes, there is a 0 in the very beginning. Thank you in advance!

@wghiller Gateway apparently charges a lot for parking. My friend who’s living there next year is just going to buy a USC parking pass and park it across the street on campus.

I think I would do the same thing if I end up living at Gateway.
