USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@fivefootfree - Just wondering, is your status still on “forwarded”? I saw earlier that you got the change yesterday and I just got mines today. I can’t access the backdoor method right now, so it looks like to be good news!

@ sky-raptor - Yea it’s still on the “forwarded” status right now. I’ll just have to wait and see what happens from here on out.

@fivefoot check your status in the morning i know i have been told that their computer systems are usually behind…what really need is someone to check this

hi everyone, i eamiled USC admission office today. i remember somebody said “USC will close on friday.” so i didnt expect USC would answer me quickly. BUT, USC sent me eamil today!(quite fast!) that means they work on friday, right??
and, my question was about the notification. since i cant wait anymore, i asked the admission office to tell me the truth.lol
well, according to that email, “a decision has been sent” which means like, “dont be panic. be patient. you will know the truth soooooooon!!!” right??

those who are still waiting for tha packet, dont worry too much. all we need to do is “just wait” :P

oh my status changed!!! finally!!! “acted on”!!! does this mean what. i hope its good

crap. backdoor method didnt work. comeon USC dont play with me like this :frowning:
sorry im posting many times…cos im just panic.lol

star try the backdoor method and let us know what it does for you

lol looks we posted at the same time

coralgirl23@-yea!lol i tried backdoor method, but i couldnt login :frowning: says “invalid login.”
“acted on” can be rejected…?

did you use your student id and b day to login?

coralgirl23@- yes i did :frowning: but didnt work…
my status just changed today after i sent USC admission office email. maybe my deposit box is not ready yet?lol or rejected students also have “acted on” status
i will try again later…

I am still on forwarded…
I think they send out another batch of decision today since they have to sent all the decision by june1st, even including june1st today is the second to last day

so I assumed they probably not changing the status but probably decision are on the way?

I was accepted at USC for the fall of 2010 as a psychology major but am debating whether to go here or LMU. Thoughts? I feel as though I would be going to LMU because the transition would be easier and I really like the suburban setting and small environment over the urban, large environment. If I were to attend USC it would be simply due to the prestige, name, and overall college experience of attending a large, socially active university.

Good to hear they accepted you, rhandler33. You’ve been on this thread watching the process too much to get rejected.

My advice: To start with, I would definitely recommend not choosing LMU for the purpose of an easier transition. It’s good to shake things up in life :). We only get to be young once. As for the environment, that’s totally your preference. I don’t see a large university as being necessarily detrimental regardless of your views, though. If you’re concerned about making friends, that’s what getting active in organizations and in general is for. Plus, prestige can be invaluable.

I’m totally not at all biased as a person going to USC and who prefers urban areas, haha.

wghiller, there’s an option on one of the Gateway forms that says “prefer to live with graduate students or young professionals”. That second bit implies that not everyone is a student there. I would guess that the vast majority are, though. Put “USC student” or something on your preferences form if you want.
Quentin13, no, that is not safe to say. You’ve still got a shot.
starstarstar, yes, acted on can lead to a rejection. Nobody should be stressing over the backdoor method. Sometimes it doesn’t even work until after you’ve received your packet. It’s weird like that.

Random note: It’s pretty interesting how this thread towers over the other ones in the transfer students forum in activity level.

I’m in a strange predicament. My status hasn’t changed at all (meaning my application status still says submitted, and that’s all it says), but the backdoor method worked for me. These forms are incredibly helpful. It makes me wish I had found it sooner.

If it worked then it’s very unlikely that you weren’t accepted.

It’s okay, mine said that the whole time and I got an acceptance pacakage almost two weeks ago now. My usconnect was all messed up because I had two different accounts, and therefore never recieved a status change.

@ everyone , so i woke up this morning and i am still on the “committee review”…
I attempted the 1st backdoor link and it still is a blank page. When i tried the second one, i filled in my student id and DOB and the pre-filled form appeared, is this a good sign…?

(ps: all the previous weeks when i attempted to click on the second link and put my student id and D.O.B it would say invalid log-in)

Yup, it is.

hey all … i got acted on on thursday and i am waiting for the mail but this backdoor method worked… but it seems like everyone is getting it to work now. has anyone been successful at getting it to work and then gotten bad news?
