USC 2010 Transfer Thread

got forwarded on thursday…and got accepted today!! with my 3.2 gpa woot woot! I think it had a lot to do with being a Marine…now waiting for the financial aid package…

I’m an International Relations Global Biz major as well !

@saras613

Whats totally tripping me out right now, is like, that’s my story too haha. I started out in 2005, did crappy, took Fall 2006-Spring 2007 off to work (reality check), and then came back in summer of 2007. Since then, I’ve got my GPA up to a 3.7 and finished all my GE (about 70 units.)

Once a status changes to “forwarded to”, if it doesn’t change to “acted upon” within a couple of days, your 99.99% rejected. Sorry to be blunt, but check the past forums, it’s pretty consistent, and as far as I know, there isn’t any evidence to the contrary. It’s not about being pessimistic, it’s about being realistic, and not giving myself (or anyone else for that matter) false hope.

■■■■!!! I’m from the OC but i am currently with a friend in the valley for the weekend. And then all of a sudden my mom tagged me in a photo on facebook…

She posted the photo of my acceptance letter! ■■■■ i got in!!! :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: best weekend ever!!!

@doandydo

congrats! im international global biz as well. what was ur gpa?

When’s our deadline to send our intent to register?

@hellostranger57

what a way to find out. congrats!

i think its 2 weeks after you receive your package or until june 1

June 1st? Eek!

By the way, they just gave me a merit scholarship for $9200! Pretty awesome, but it’s still way more expensive than UCLA or Berkeley so I’m going to one of those.

all good schools man. either one you end at i’m sure you’ll end up doing great things.

btw, congrats. I think you’re the first one on here to receive a merit scholarship for transfer students. Some people were wondering about the merit scholarships and when you would be notified.

i got forwarded on thursday acted on friday and got my acceptance package today! someone posted earlier about spring admits and I’m one of them! im alittle bummed about not getting in for the fall but i will take a spring admittance over nothing at all. especially with my stats i thought i wasnt going to get in at all so i am super excited. but also my friend got a spring admit too a while ago soo just a head up there have been spring admits going out already but dont lose hope! there is still alot of time!

hey arcadefire

how did you get such a terrible finaid package if your annual family income is around 20k?

I got 35k uni grant and my ann family income is more than double yours , but still less than 60k.

@figgggggy my gpa was 3.2 …but im a veteran so i think that helped

@arcade- How did you find out that you received a merit scholarship?

Also, would you mind posting your stats?

i just got my acceptance letter today!! first time visiting the usc part of the forum, but might as well share…

3.3 overall
political science
bs application

i have no idea how i got in, i was dead set on going to UCLA (uc gpa 3.5), but then i got the acceptance letter. i was so sure about going to a UC that i did the usc ap 2 days before it was due, used the same answer for all the personal questions, and answered “idk” for all the personality questions about music, food, etc. i didn’t even send my fafsa to usc i think ;</p>

funny thing is they expect you to send your intent to register + $300 by june first, and my acceptance letter says May 28, 2010 -_______-

but anyway…woo hoo!!!..?

@Andrizzle- You have two weeks after you receive your package to submit the enrollment deposit.

Hey everyone,

Got my USC acceptance packet a week ago and my financial aid award today. UMD ($0 scholarship) + NYU ($6,000 scholarship) + USC ($30,000 grant) = LA, here I come!

Nice, Zara! Go Trojans!

Congrats zara on the awesome financial aid package! I’m hoping to get around a similar amount as you, do you happen to know your EFC?

My EFC through FAFSA was listed as a little over $9,000. I did detail in the CSS profile some reasons why that really isn’t feasible for my family, though.
