striker15, based on all previous cases in this thread, you’re in.

IT takes me to commit page . I filled in and paid $300 bucks Stooooooked!
tears of joy

Woot congrats @ziggy. Thanks guys

Congrats ziggy!

My application just got forwarded to the committee. Hopefully I’ll hear within the next week!

OMG "Your application has been forwarded for committee review. "

iM SCARED :/

anyone know what the good (reasonably-ish priced) transfer dorms or usc owned apartments are?

@deerins - On the facebook thread there is a housing for transfers discussion with links to lots of off-campus housing options which will give you an ideas on prices.

Just got accepted . . . but now I feel kind of bad. Here’s my problem:

I got accepted into both UCB for Economics and USC Marshall for Business Administration.

It took Marshall until 2 says ago to get back to me with the admission so naturally I was leaning toward Cal and I even put in my SIR there. Now that I got into Marshall I’m having second thoughts.

I would like a career in business: banking, finance, consulting, etc.

Since at Berkeley I am majoring in Econ and not Bus. Admin. (Haas), would I be at a total disadvantage competing with Haas students for internships and positions?

The other side of the coin is USC Marshall, where I would undoubtedly get a good business education but pay $10,000 more a year (which I would have to finance using additional loans). Also, unlike Berkeley I do not know what courses they would accept from my community college. There’s no assist.org for private schools.

@Atlanta101 Which community college are you transferring from. Have you checked the Articulation Agreements?
Error;

As for your decision as to which school to go to:
I’m not going to begin to pretend that I know how they compare especially with different majors. I’m sure some others will be able to assist you on this.

Best of luck

@trojanhopeful - good for you! i actually called admissions today and they changed my status from ‘unable’ to ‘we have received youre spring grades.’ i wish mine went to ‘forwarded’ like yours

@everyone - do you think they will still accept people this late in the game? im worried! admissions told me early July is the latest. and my app hasnt even gotten forwarded to the committee yet

Sent in grades: 6/8
Major: CLAS Sociology
GPA: 4.0 (spring) 3.8 overall
Units: 34

@lovingSC i really don’t think it’s fair if some people end school or get their grades later than others…

@Atlanta101
Depending on the firm , Haas will definitely overshadow Econ , but I think it won’t matter significantly if you are able to maintain a high GPA (among other things on your resume).
20,000 for the next two years is not too bad , but the fact that it might take you more than two years to graduate due to transfer equivalency really sucks. It is really up to you, but if you are seriously considering USC, I would suggest talking to their admission reps or whoever is in charge of all things transfer.

Also… who is in charge of setting up the cc meet and greet on the 9th?
Does it have to be In-n-Out? Can it be Pink’s?

[Meet and Greet](Redirecting...)

I will be on campus tomorrow! except its for a financial aid meeting to see if I can get better aid! I am going either way but it would be nice to pay less

Do FA packages come with acceptance letters or afterward in a separate letter? Just curious

A few weeks or so afterward. It’ll be online before you get your letter, most likely. The process might be faster since they’re dealing with less students now, though.

I’m late but congrats to everyone accepted recently! Good luck, tbibbs.

@purplenurple, they determine your FA package online after you receive your acceptance letter in maybe a week or two weeks, it all really depends. They will notify your e-mail once your financial aid package is ready, or you can systematically check yourself on OASIS. I constantly checked my awards and saw that it was available and a couple hours later, I received an e-mail telling me that my FA package was ready.

I tried to register for the July 9th orientation but it’s closed anyone is going to the 16th orientation?

@itsyouitsme
Same here. I’ll be there the 16th. We should arrange a CC meet and greet for July 16th orientation. I tried (and failed) earlier in the thread haha.

@KHPAtel - If through some miracle I am admitted soon, I’ll help you organize one for the 16th (If it doesn’t fill up before I get in that is lol).
