USC 2010 Transfer Thread

Looks like it was just a misunderstanding of intention. I think we all had that “huh?” reaction. Even after looking at the expanded explanation, I’d go with the interpretation that they’re just not accepting any further requests for Marshall so they phrased it as being done with Marshall decisions. If you’re already being considered, keep your head up.

I agree with Serapher. They have made all their initial decisions for Fall 2010, and a spring grade request is one of those decisions. It entails a complete review after the new info has been submitted. Everyone with a SGR definitely still has a fair shot. If they wanted to reject you straight up, they would have never asked for your spring grades.

@xdzzzrawr Like i said I didn’t want to make anyone feels bad. The purpose of this forum is sharing all the information we have, so that we can be prepared for our admission. I also don’t like one person’s word can bring a CHAOS, BUT what I posted here was not based on my assumption or guessing…it’s from the ADMISSION officer’s MOUTH…so it’s reliable…okay the way I explained might be confusing some ppl (maybe most people)…I apologize for that.

I also agree with Serapher…“they’re just not accepting any further requests for Marshall so they phrased it as being done with Marshall decisions.” Everyone with a SGR keeps ur head up.

“your application has been forwarded to a committee for review”

Does this mean there’s a chance my po box has a decision letter in the mail now or must I still wait?

@holidays - did it switch to that this morning? It means it’ll at least be a few days because that indicates your app was forwarded to the committee for review. Once it switches to the committee has acted, that means your decision has been mailed out.

@lovingSC I e-mailed my counselor last night asking if there was any other way to check if they received my transcript since i still had the “unable to process” status and it still asked for my transcript under the “admission documents” tab. she said that they just received my transcript and i should receive a decision in the mail in the next week. i just checked my USConnect and she updated the status to “forwarded to the committee” and it doesn’t ask for the transcript under the “admission documents” tab anymore. i would suggest e-mailing if you want to speed up the process but now i’m going crazy with nervousness

kulakai - Thank you for the quick response…i’m *****ting bullets here just waiting.

Just be happy you’ve seen some movement on it  Many of us are still waiting for it just to be forwarded!

I still don’t know what I’m going to do. I was accepted to CLAS for Spring 2011 with no financial aid. I don’t know if its worth it :/

Just got back home and I got another status update from forwarded to “The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone 10 days after your letter was mailed.” Any clues as to what this quick status change means or is it normal?

@striker 15 that’s pretty normal, usually it takes two or three days but i don’t think it means anything if it was only one (besides the fact that they are trying to speed things up)… have you tried the backdoor method?

@striker15 - Quick status change to acted on from forwarded was only an indicator of an acceptance if it occured much prior to June 1st. I imagine all changes will be quick as of now since they’re only hangling sgr’s and a few other late decisions.

Can someone post the backdoor method link? Thanks

https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmCertification/Default.aspx

Checked status and went to acted on , so i checked backdoor method and it worked. I’m in! I am so freakin haaappppppy!!!

Tried it and I can log in now unlike before. Some info is prefilled. Does this mean anything?

@striker15 can you show a screenshot? don’t wanna get your hopes all the way up but i’m pretty sure that means you’re in…

and also guys that are getting in, don’t forget to add to the decisions page! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/904974-usc-transfer-decisions-2010-official-thread.html

@trojan I’m not very handy with the computer so sorry I can’t but I’ll just wait for tomorrow and see if I got in or not. Yesterday I tried that same link and it told me “invalid login.”

@striker it’s cool, congrats! you probably won’t get the letter tomorrow, it’ll probably take a few days
