Your application is being looked at, you should actually receive a decision soon. When did you submit your spring grades by the way? Whats your major?

By the way guys, I asked my admissions counselor how the decision process is doing, like are they ahead or behind. And he said it’s looking like decisions will be made towards the end of the month. :/

wghiller, if it’s accepted but not equivalent to USC course work then it’ll count toward the 128 credit requirement but it won’t fulfill any specific class requirements. You could think of it as an elective, yeah.

@trojanhopeful - I was thinking about doing that too. But what are you going to ask? Just how soon you’ll get a decision?

@nabile Turned in my spring grades about a week from May 21. Biology major

Maybe even two weeks from May 21.

@nabilemail - I am betting on the fact that literally within hours of submitting my deposit for my backup school at the end of this week, my app changes to forwarded status lol. It is hard having to plan to move to two opposite sides of the country and then only finding out at the last minute which way you are going :/

@lovingSC I just asked if there’s anyway for them to check if they received my transcript because it still says “we are unable to process…” and it still asks for the transcripts in my “admission documents” tab. but now i realize if striker sent his a couple days before i sent mine, i should be getting an update either tomorrow or thursday

finally forwarded for committee review. How long for them to actually make a decision?

@ziggyusc We’re in the same boat. Hopefully we get a decision this week cause I don’t think i can wait any longer.

I talked to admission officers today at USC (Marshall AND general one). They said they already made all decisions (only business major) for fall 2010. According to them, there will be no more marshall acceptance from now. Just wanna let u guys know : )

@Winnie

you’ve got to be kidding I’m assuming this applies to us SGR applicants too? If it does some of us havnt even sent in our official grades yet. Freaking out!

@trojanhopeful - oh thats good news then. i think im gonna wait it out too, because i just saw @winnietheJason’s post about having made decisions on business majors already. i dont want to sound to pushy to my admissions counselor either. what do you think? is everyone else left CLAS?

@lovingSC yeah but if what he said is true for business majors, wouldn’t we want to get our decisions sooner? (if they stop accepting people after a certain time)

@WinnieTheJason I don’t think that makes any sense whatsoever, they don’t merely make a magical cap number of how many people they are admitting in the middle of June when so many people who have SGRs have not heard back at all. USC is not known for their ridiculous methodologies when conducting admissions and would not care to deface their name by saying they are “not accepting anymore transfers into marshall.” So if someone has 100 transferable units and a 4.0 GPA but has a prerequisite in progress for marshall, then they’re going to be rejected? I don’t see any sort of valid reasoning in that and you leaving that little smiley face is truly irritating and destroying the hope of those who are still waiting, which is not warranted at all. I have already been accepted into Marshall, but I don’t appreciate you coming in here and posting how proud you are of finding out such misinformation and gladly sharing with everyone as if seeing other people panicking and breakdown gives you a smile. Good day, sir.

@trojanhopeful - so you think i should email my counselor?

@xdzz - agree 100%!

Maybe he meant that all the complete Marshall applications they’ve received have been decided on and, after that batch of acceptances, there will be no more? Or perhaps he’s saying that all pending acceptances will be for spring?

Edit note: I made a large edit after looking more closely at what he said.

@jmoney1014 I went there with my friend who got accepted with the alternative major (Global business). According to his acceptance letter, as soon as he finishes his requirements for Marshall, they will reconsider him as a Marshall applicant. That’s why we went to USC today. The marshall admission officer AND the general admission officer told us that they already made all decisions for fall 2010. (which means he can’t get into marshall…they actually suggest him to try internal transfer) Honestly, I don’t know about the SGR, but that’s what they told me.

Sorry for the confusion…

@xdzzzrawr I’m just telling people what I heard today from admission officers today. I didn’t want to make anyone feel bad. If my smile EMOTION BUGS u that much, I apologize for my INAPPROPRIATE emoticon use…

@WinnietheJason I’m sorry for coming off strong, I just don’t like how one person’s words can demoralize so many others that have worked so hard during their college career and to be simply shot down. Regardless of what you may have learned today, it still doesn’t make sense for Marshall to reject say an applicant with a 4.0 GPA with 100 credits, 2 letter of recs, and a stellar essay, but simply had a prerequisite in progress during the spring, which I assure you there are many applicants in this similar situation still awaiting their SGRs on this forum.
