USC 2010 Transfer Thread

hey guys
for SGR’s…are the status theories the same?

I am insanely excited to go for USC in the fall. Just wanted to put that out there.

Best of luck to the SGR’s and future Trojans, see you at orientation and in the Fall :)

I just LIKED thelongshot’s comment

Bringing Facebook to CC. Good times.

I just took a tour of SC and have decided that even if I’m taken off Stanford’s waitlist in July, I’m still going to be a Trojan. It impressed me that much.

Psh, is Hector from Stanford? No, no he isn’t. Losing to Achilles doesn’t count, dude’s pretty hard to kill.

How about a roll call/meetup for the orientations? Might be a good way to start meeting our peers from CC.

Go ahead and add your name.

Orientation - dates
July 9th:

July 16th:

@Quentin- You’ve taken 60 units and only 17 transferred–and NYU accepted 50? There HAS to be something wrong there. If not, I’m going to be in trouble, too. Are you out of state?

@Serapher- What’s the difference between course work accepted and coursework accepted for USC or whatever it was?

Does that just mean some course work will be classified as electives?

anyones status still ‘unable to process’ even though you sent in your spring grades already? stressss

The individual school/program you’ll be attending has a lot of discretion in deciding which courses are accepted and what they will be allowed to substitute for at USC. For our D, she enrolled after 3 semesters at OOS CC. She is undeclared but many of her courses did fulfill GE requirements and she’ll end up graduating with lots more credits than the total USC needs, just to meet the requirements of whatever program she finally ends up in. The best way to get good info is by talking/e-mailing with the advisor from the school/program you’re entering at USC. They can commit as to which courses will be accepted for which requirements. Get it in writing & it will show up in your USC STARS report.

@ lovingSC

Don’t worry, I’m in the same boat as you. Don’t stress, listen to some nice music instead!

Enjoy :)

@Politricks - haha thanks! i like that song  when did you send in your grades, and whats your major? theyre taking foreverrr

Hahah no problem! I sent in my grades on june 1st. So its been about two weeks… As for my major, doesn’t my user name give it away?

Well i’m going to a friend’s to watch the Brazil game. Shoot me a PM if you have anymore questions :P

@Politricks - ohh of course politics  i sent mine in on june 8th so i guess you’re way ahead of me. i feel like theyre looking at CLAS last :(

@lovingSC same here…sent grades june 2, and they still havent fwd to committee

@politricks

Props for posting that Roots song… been listening to it all week. Can’t wait for How I Got Over!

@loving SC I sent mine on June 1 so the two week mark would be about Thursday… other people said they have e-mailed their admissions counselor and they updated it pretty fast after that so i think imight just do that

For any SGR that’s been forwarded to committee, or have the “we have received your spring grades”, when did you get your SGR status “we cannot process…”?

Maybe your status depends on when you received the sgr status.

Just checked my status and i got a status update to from “unable…” to “Your application has been forwarded for committee review.” Any clues as to what this means?

@nabilesmail I’ve had the “we cannot process…” status for about a month so yeah wouldn’t be able to give you an exact date, sorry.

Is anyone interested in USC Housing? There is a spot available for one guy at Century Apartments. Please send me a message if you are interested. It is very affordable and right next to campus, very convenient. Please send me a message if you are interested in the spot.

Thanks
