I’m waiting on Marshall.
The wait is killing me. I’m back to losing sleep.

Are most of you still on the “we have received” status?

Thanks Serapher. I guess by the looks of it i’ll have to pay the full price this year and next year my taxes and stuff will be different so hopefully I can get some aid.

is anyone waiting for an email from USC about orientation and setting up your email? I submitted my deposit on tuesday but i’m still waiting to hear from them…

@kittycats

I’m still waiting… I submitted my deposit Thursday though.

Btw anyone here already have a spot at university gateway? If so I’m looking to see if anyone wants to take advantage of the special going on this month… Refer me and UG will give you $500 (I was hoping to go halves so we’d each get something) pm me!

11,000th post. :D

CMON USC! WE’RE ALL HERE WAITING FOR YOU.

If your EFC is 0 does it mean your tuition will be paid for ?

No.

Some people have a FAFSA EFC between 1-5k and still end up having a USC EFC well over 5k.
My FAFSA EFC is around 4k , USC EFC is around 7k.

You can also take out loans, although after the government’s subsidized loans (around 5k), you’ll have to deal with unsubsidized loans , and the interest rates vary from place to place.

Hey guys!

So i went to see University Gateway for the first time this afternoon. I was so impressed with everything! The special that they have right now is such a GREAT deal! I was so convinced I signed the lease right away…without my parents even seeing the place yet! I guaranteed my mom over the phone that it is a great place and she agreed. Yay!

They waived my security deposit of $800 and the application fee of $45! It’s also part of the special btw.

OMG IM SO EXCITED!!!
<3

@hellostranger

so what are the details of the lease? how many roommates, price, meal plans? I’m also assuming the length of the contract will be 10 months right?

@kittycats0808

Don’t wait to receive an email from USC before trying to access the orientation site. I didn’t get anything from USC telling me I had access, but I go into it anyways. Just check all the boxes and put your info in.

@brianlee - It gives me a databse error when I try to access the orientation server, “object does not exist”, which I assume means the database object for my user data has not been created yet by those processing my deposit? I’ll keep trying each day.

@brianlee So it is 899/month including all utilities and the apartments are fully furnished. the 899/month rate is for a 12 year lease. If you decide to take on an academic lease (10 months) it will be something about ~$1075/month. So if you compare both rates, the difference will roughly be ~$525. I chose the 12 month lease. I’m planning on subleasing it for the summer.

All the single bedroom apartments are already occupied. So they only have the 2 br and 2bath apartments available. Each room will have 2 people in it. There aren’t any meal plans b/c they aren’t university owned (i think?). However, there are going to be a lot of retail shops in the same building which are opening in about 2 weeks.

Parking is additionally $150 a month. There is a fitness gym open for tenants 24/7. Also, a concierge 24/7. And a telephone line for each unit. Cool huh? It almost feels like living in a hotel! Everything is brand new and haven’t been used before since they just opened this spring!

For a limited time only, they will waive the security deposit of ~$800 and the application fee of ~$45 if you sign the lease with them now. Yay! But take note that the rooms are quickly filling up (obviously because of this deal). I heard last Thursday, they had an open house and about 40 people signed the lease right after. So better hurry!

Oh, and rates go up as you move up the building. Floors 2-4 are 899/month. And 5-6 are 999/month I believe (I could be wrong, so please correct me!) and of course, the 8th floor is the highest floor…it’s the most expensive. I just couldn’t remember what exactly the rate is. I chose the 4th floor.

They also had me fill up a roommate matching program. They said they’re going to try to match me with roommates that have the same interests and personality. So, I’m pretty excited about it! I hope I get cool roomies! Lol.

They release apartment/unit/room and roommate assignments every Friday so I won’t find out mine until next Friday or the following one.

Overall, I fell in love with the place. 899/month is such an awesome deal!

I don’t mean to sound like an endorser or a salesperson for this place but trust me, it’s just gorgeous!

I hope this helps! :)

@Kulakai

Sorry, I did forget to mention that it took a few days from when I made my email to accessing the system. I believe it was something like 3-4 days before I got in, so just keep trying. Also, I did receive that error as well.

@hellostranger

thank you for writing out that long post! it definitely does sound excellent for the price and services. I guess all that is left is to do an actual tour.

WOW! That is an amazing deal!
