@Kulakai Hey, since the orientations on the 9th and the 16th are already filled…it looks like I’ll have no other choice but to go to the 23rd one. I’m guessing it won’t be that bad…right? Lol

hellostranger57, they tell you to wait until you get the invitation but you don’t technically have to, same with the computing account/email. https://sait.usc.edu/orientation/login_summer.asp

Renewal of my “hope you get in” to Budlightyear

Congrats, loveSCtrojans

Anyone have any info on getting into USC Annenberg for Public Relations?

I’m a transfer student with a 3.73 (currently) and have worked full time in a consultative sales internship. I also run a side project/company where I design websites, grapics, flyers, etc. for companies.

Do I have a shot fo getting in?

@hellostranger57 - Yeah I was gonna give you the bad news last night on FB but you signed off! Sucks huh! Well there are a handful of us who will have to go on the 23rd so don’t worry none of us will be alone :)

A quick question: is it too early to start working on the application for Fall 2011 since the app is already out? I sort of want to start working on it a little by little so when the Common App comes out I won’t be swamped with 10 applications to work on…

On a technical note, did you guys use Internet Explorer or Firefox when working on the online application?

Finally got my acceptance package , cannot describe the feeling, full fill up with happiness. And going to Marshall… Go !!!

PublicRelations, the stats thread is the best I can do.

CrownOftheSea, the site accepts both, I believe. I personally used IE since it tends to have the highest general compatibility. I use Firefox for actually browsing. On starting the application, it’s never too early. If you have time now then go ahead and do it now. Keep in mind that there’s an optional part 1. I’m not sure if part 2 is up yet. The site says, as a general guideline, “mid-August”.

Welcome to USC, jeffrey7guo.

@Serapher When I login through that link, it gives me this message:

"Microsoft VBScript runtime error ‘800a01a8’

Object required

/orientation/secure/shibprocessing_rev2.asp, line 137"

what gives?
should I really wait for 7 business day before i can sign up for orientation?

@ Serapher, Thanks for the prompt response, since Part I is optional, should I go ahead and fill that out and send it anyway?

@jeffrey7guo - congrats! make sure to join the fb group and friend some of us so you can come meet us other marshall transfers on the 23rd orientation :)

CrownOftheSea, I think that technically it doesn’t effect your chances. Why not fill it out, though? It should just be some basic information.

hellostranger57, I don’t know enough to tell whether that’s just USC’s servers having a temporary screw up or if it’s because you didn’t wait long enough. It seems like with USC computer systems it takes different amounts of time for different people so it could be either, in my opinion.

Quick edit: Kulakai said he got the same error when he tried
For me, I got the reservation invitation 2 days after my deposit and then immediately signed up for a computing account/email. You’re supposed to wait 24 hours after creating the email to make the reservation but I did it pretty quickly.

@serapher - It is a vbscript error stating the object does not exist. Essentially when they process the deposit, whatever that means, it generates the user object for us to access and confirm an rsvp. So instead of having an actual html that states “Your deposit has not been processed so you cannot reserve a orientation space yet, please wait at least 7 days etc.”, they just let the database kick the error back.

@ jeffrey7guo - congrats! what was your status at? I’m still waiting on Marshall and I don’t know what to think anymore :/

Wanted to show any SGR’s still currently in waiting what my particular admissions counselor wrote me in regards to the efficiency of processing of our applications.

Beau,

Thanks for your email. We’re getting through these applications as quickly and thoroughly as we can—I honestly can’t say when exactly you will hear. I hope soon, but we don’t want to sacrifice thoroughness for expedience. Thanks for your patience.

Have a great week,

^^ That is the same thing they tell everyone when they call/email pretty much.

well that makes me feel MUCH better. :/

Hi MARSHALL,

Just stopping in to tell you that I’m still alive and interested. If you can do me a small favor and pick up my application and read it? That would be great. Thanks.

It makes me laugh to know that some people will still be waiting for a decision after they’ve already had an orientation

^all waiting SGR should just crash the next orentation and demand answers!! haha

Finally registered for orientation! Anyone going to the July 23 one?
