USC 2010 Transfer Thread

yea ill be there and im glad to see im not the only 1

So can I bring a friend to the orientation under “Other” or is that also strictly limited to family members only?

You can bring up to 4 guests which you specify the names of when you register for orientation but it just costs extra money.

To any incoming Trojans who are still looking for housing!

If you still need housing, and did not get any on-campus housing, I am offering a 5 bedroom 2.25 bathroom house only a block away from campus.

The monthly rate is $4,500 for the whole house, so if you meet anyone at orientation that is in the same situation as you, then you should definitely meet up and try and get this house! At this point if you don’t already have housing, then all you are really left with is the crappy apartments that are at least a mile away from campus. This house is not only close, but it is also in a safe neighborhood since it is near an elementary school and is completely renovated inside. Check out my craigslist posting here: [2.25Bath – WALKING DISTANCE TO USC ONLY 1 BLOCK – LIVE WITH FRIENDS](http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/apa/1828631043.html)

We prefer a huge group, but if you have a small group that can’t fill the house, don’t be afraid to ask a question. Email me at rentusc@gmail.com.

I will be at all the transfer orientation starting July 9th, and I will be able to show the house, so if you are interested, please contact me.

Is anyone actually still looking for housing? I swear all of you signed a lease for gateway already :)

So I just got my transfer credit report. And it says on there:

TOTAL NUMBER OF UNITS ACCEPTED IN TRANSFER:
60.00 UNITS

So after evaluating my credentials, am I finally going to be bumped in to a Junior? I don’t understand how to look at the transfer credit report. Sorry =/

You’re 3 credits from being a junior. If you look further down, you’ll see which classes correspond to which USC classes. If there’s any units that aren’t covered by those classes, those units pretty much count as elective credits.

Do you get an email notification when your transfer report is available on Oasis or do you just have to check back occasionally until it is available?

63 units is required to be a junior? I don’t think they have included my classes from spring semester yet because it says at the bottom:

In-progress course work is provided for informational purposes
only. No credit award is promised or should be presumed. See
articulation agreements with California community colleges and
transfer policies at [USC ARR : Articulation](Transfer Credit Services - Office of Academic Records and Registrar).

USC advisors: for other institutions, see unofficial articu-
lation histories, which are subject to change, on OASIS for
advisors. Courses listed here will not be evaluated by Academic
Records and Registrar until official transcripts with grades
are received by Degree Progress.
classes from Spring semester listed here

So they have not yet included my spring semester classes in the evaluation they put up on oasis?

@kulakai I didn’t get an email. I just kept on checking

[USC Office of Parent Programs](http://www.usc.edu/student-affairs/parents/parentGlossaryTerms.html)
Class standing information

Look at the list and you’ll see whether they looked the classes or not. If it’s not listed anywhere, they haven’t looked at it. Even if it’s rejected, it’ll show up under “course work not accepted”.

Really late here but, yeah, it looks like they didn’t include your spring classes. I didn’t see that part earlier since I was popping in and out between things.

I give up on this waiting game

Balla - Our decisions will come soon, whether it be a rejection or acceptance, it will probably come within the next two weeks or so. I think it will be a good idea to make plans for a detour. I’m really holding on by a thread in being optimistic, but i also have to be logical and realistic. My guess is that our acceptance will be based on those students who have declined USC, which will then open up some spots. I’m predicting a few more declines pending undesired financial aid amounts given to those that were recently offered admission.

I’ve already chosen my classes for the fall semester here at my CC, then preparing to apply to USD for the Spring. If rejected, I’m confident enough to say that USC will lose out on a phenomenal person -no arrogance intended. I’ve always had the heart of a fighting Trojan, we all do, which is why were on this board; I just wish they knew that. I know quite a few people who just blew off USC’s application and their processes -doing things last minute- never even intended on going, with lower grades, and made up EC’s, still getting acceptance packages. A huge slap in the face to me being how much I love USC and having it been my goal since the beginning.

budlight - are u waiting for marshall or CLAS?

Marshall and CLAS. My second choice major is Econ.

Good luck to you guys! You’ll eventually get your answers pretty soon! I hope you guys get in, especially to you Budlightyear, since I’ve already seen you here on CC from the very beginning. Have faith! :)

Thank you, hellostranger, fellow Pirate. Haha.

I’m really glad to see that everything worked out for you and decided to come to 'SC rather than UCSD! I know you’ve stressed out as much as any of us here.

No problem. It’s funny how I never really heard “Pirate” during my entire time in OCC. Lol!

Thanks! Everything happens for a reason I guess. You definitely deserve to get in USC! They’ll surely miss out on such a gem like you! Best of luck, buddy! Keep us posted :)

Hahaa. Yeah, I’ve never really heard the term “Pirate” get thrown around either, except for when I worked at Watson Hall for a semester. I’ve heard people call OCC, “Hoe CC” a lot more often, which fits quite well.
