@Budlightyear: Yeah, it was pretty epic. I got to meet plenty of people and it just makes you want to start classes. The Spirit of Troy was there in good fashion too!

Oh, and you need to add me on FB still, mang :p

@seegeewhy - I am driving down to LA to look at housing with xdzzzrawr tomorrow. I think we might be considering gateway as an option since that seems to be where most of CC is living.

Skyline - Haha, rub it in man, rub it in. I’m glad you had a good time, post some pics dude. Kula, we’re fing rollin man, I can’t wait for ours!
I’m not going to add you on FB just yet because there’s someone I’m trying to avoid and I need to think of an excuse for ignoring her, so until then, I’m not going to log in. I would totally delete her, but I want to see if I’m admitted first, if not, I’ll have to see her again this Fall and it’ll be awkward. I’d like to avoid animosity.

So the packet seems to only have information for transfers that were admitted before June 1st. What about us that have been admitted in the past week? Do we have an orientation we can sign up for that is still available? Getting in was awesome but the reality of figuring all this stuff out now is daunting. :)

So my FA package is 4K in grants and 6K in loans. I totally can’t afford this.
My parents can pay like 5K a year for college, because most of our family’s money goes toward our house payment. Ugh.
But my dad said I should make my enrollment deposit, and then we’re going to meet with an FA advisor at USC, and maybe I can start out part time, taking like a class for the first semester, if they can’t give me any more money.

This blows. I’m so totally heartbroken over this. =[

dchrysler, I’m sorry to hear about your predicament, I would not wish this stress upon anyone. It just plain sucks. But just to let you know -if you already don’t- USC’s tuition is a flat rate for full time students (approx: 12-18 units/sem) If you’re deciding to go part-time, which is less than 12 units, USC will require you to pay for the classes on a per unit rate, which is $1360.00 per unit. Check out the tuition/fees portion of the catalog:

Also, I’ve noticed that you’re from Palos Verdes, commuting might not be such a bad idea. I’m actually planning on doing that myself, from Long Beach. Hope this helps dude.

EDIT: A good question to ask your FA officer when you go there with your dad is if your FA awards will be based on your student status (i.e. full-time or part-time). I say this because that is how it is with public schools, not sure if its the same with private institutions.

How long after you guys got in were you able to pay your deposit online? usc.edu/deposit redirects me to my portal. Thanks for the help guys and sorry about all the questions :)

does anyone know where I can find info about where to dorm because I have absolutely no clue where to dorm and their are so many places to choose from. I’m a bio major I just want a place that close to my classes that it.
