Reminder for transfers, join the CC USC transfer group on facebook where we got a discussion going with a ton of links of various housing options for people who can’t get into a dorm: [College Confidential USC Transfers 2010 | Facebook](<a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook)

@Dainese Sweet! i’ll send them off as soon as I am done with this quarter.

iloverome: I may or may not rush for Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Hey does anyone know how do we apply for housing??? can we still apply if we’re not accepted to the school or we have to wait until we are accepted to the school until we can apply??

@ LagunaSC tbibbs daisydaisy

Thanks for the reassurance guys. I was just being paranoid.

Where is Admissions located on campus?

in F6 (think battleships) or if u dont know what that means… bottom right corner marked TRO

thank you.

Anyone know when we hear back? Or start to hear back? I’m so freakin nervous it is not even funny, I don’t think I could take another year at Community College.

@lustrous: Looking at the 2008 and 2009 transfer decision threads on CC it appears as if people began to receive decisions or SGR’s at th very end of April. Most decisions are mailed out by June 1st however if you have an SGR then you might not get the full decision until possibly July it seems.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/704200-usc-transfer-decisions-2009-official-thread.html?highlight=usc+2009

Does USC send us our Financial Aid package at the same time as our decisions? B/c i might get a SGR b/c I didn’t finish Calc yet for Marshall and if I have to wait all the way until July…then well, that’s just stupid. I have to submit my SIR for UCLA or Berkeley by June 1st…

@NathanDrake It is stupid, but then again you shouldn’t have put off taking calc =p Seriously tho, that is entirely true so many people who have USC as their first choice school end up SIRing their 2nd choice school and losing the $100 or so if SC accepts them as well

^Do USCs still give us the same amount of financial aid and scholarships even if we get an SGR? For example, if I finished all my prereqs and was just accepted right away at the regular time would I get more financial aid or scholarships or would it be the same if I got an SGR?

What happens to the college gpa we transfer with after we get in?

@ striker: you start over with a clean slate, which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it

At one point that gpa has to be merged with the new gpa, no?

“Once you are admitted, a transfer GPA will be established for all your transferable course work. This average will be taken into account with your USC GPA to determine your eligibility for graduation with honors.”

So essentially you have a clean slate when you start at USC.

“Graduation with University Honors
To be eligible for undergraduate honors at graduation, a minimum overall grade point average of 3.5 for cum laude, 3.7 for magna cum laude and 3.9 for summa cum laude is required. Students must meet these averages, both on residence work attempted and on combined transferred and residence work attempted. The honors award is then determined by either the GPA for the residence work or the GPA for the combined transferred and residence work, whichever is lower. The university will not deviate from policies governing the calculation of the grade point averages required for graduation with honors through inclusion or exclusion of course work. University honors are noted on academic transcripts and the diploma.”

Make sense?

Yeah thanks Kulakai.

@NathanDrake Financial Aid, it will be the same, assuming you turned in all of your documents on time. Its a formula that doesn’t take into account anything other than economic factors. Scholarships might be negatively influenced by an SGR though,
I don’t know for certain either way

Sooo… did anyone get any status updates for their application yet? The apprehension and suspense is beginning to get to me hahahaha
