From what I have heard there is none basically. But I did it anyways just in case.

Don’t mean to be a party pooper but I took this directly from that housing website

“If you are new to USC, you must be formally admitted to the university before you apply.”

Are we absolutely sure of what the USC rep said?

I’m just as anxious as everyone else, and obviously since I’m freshman transfer I reallyy want on-campus housing. I just wanna be sure… :)

I’m getting a "

* USC ID (10 numeric digits only, no dashes) is invalid"

error when I try to register on that site.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

i am not officially admitted and it allowed me to apply i would not submit the full aplication until you are accepted though

Hello everyone -

I’m a transfer applicant from Orange Coast College in Orange County, CA. I was just curious to know if any of you guys are transferring as juniors? And if any of you could possibly know if the housing situation is different for juniors/seniors versus freshman/sophomores?

Thanks.

@budlightyear

i think it is the same because there were transfer students that were above the age of 20 and even some around 30

thanks for your responses everyone; its good to know im not the only one who was really looking forward to the freshman dorm experience :-[

and about housing…man im in total limbo. i live almost an hour away, so commuting wouldnt be impossible just really really terrible. im not poor enough (for lack of better terms) to receive much (if any) financial aid, but im not well off enough to be able to afford USC’s tuition AND off campus housing. and i dont even know my chances of being accepted, so i dont know if i should apply for housing yet.

AHHH. and i didnt realize we’d have to wait til freaking june. i dont think im going to last that long. my head just. might. explode.

@AMorisson-thanks a lot for the details :-]

@foodmunkee-nice to meet a fellow hellmate! and i could be wrong, but im pretty sure they do not count AP units as transfer credits.

@veggie

My thoughts exactly–June is so far away! I applied to a 4-year program, so I’m holding out hope that I’ll be notified of my admissions decision earlier, but that’s probably wishful thinking. Even if I am, I’m guessing housing will still be June.

I’m coming from NC, so that doesn’t give me much time to figure out housing. But I’m sure I’ll make it work if I’m lucky enough to be accepted!

@wghiller

-sigh- i wish us both the best of luck :]

@purplenurple and MBtown
My credit card has yet to be charged so I think you’re able to have you application in waiting until you are accepted (or I suppose denied) and then you’ll be considered for housing. The website says that they’ll start assigning Transfer student in June.

@Budlightyear I’m from Orange Coast College too! When are you transferring out?

i’m from OCC too!

anyway,

@ veggie: i’m in the same boat as u. the middle class continues to get screwed over while the rich get to go off to private universities and the poor get all the financial aid.

@hellostranger: i saw that ur a comm major for ucla too? did u apply to annenberg?

@NathanDrake yay fellow student from OCC! lol. yes i am a communications major and I did apply to annenberg. How about you?

Well im a business major so i applied to marshall and haas. for ucla i did comm bc they dont have busineds

Anyone know when does decisions come out for transfers? I applied to Berkeley and UCLA and I have to declare my status by june 1st…

Socal - It largely depends how many units you have completed. If you have over 30, there is a good chance you will hear end of April or throughout May. If you have less, you may get a request for Spring grades and hear back as late as mid-July.

@deborahmei

it said that my credit card was charged i am just going to wait until i am accepted to ask for a roommate though

Just wondering, did anyone’s credit card get charged yet for the $65 application fee?

I turned mines in a couple days before it was due, and I have yet to be charged…

@sky-raptor

I haven’t checked to see if my card has been charged but I do know that I submitted Part I in mid-July and they didn’t charge me until early September.
