USC 2011 Transfer Thread

@hyethga4lyfe

I’ve had everything in for about 2 months and have still yet to receive a status change. So I dont know if it will really affect your application

Although I did recently add a second major to my app…

@hyethga4lyfe

Try emailing or calling your regional counselor. He or she has an access to your application and should be able to better help you than those admission counselors over the phone. Check your counselor below.

Hope everything works out for you!

April 1st on Friday :wink:

Very exciting just reading some of the stuff people put about the status changes :slight_smile: Even though I haven’t had my status change, happy for those of you that have. Once the acceptance letters start rolling in, I’m sure it will be much more exciting!

When do you guys think acceptance letters come out really? I know June 1st is the deadline but those are usually the rejections. A bunch of my friends last year had it earlier but I can’t remember when.

Somewhere on this board it said the first acceptance was received on April 10th and they seemed to roll out all of May.

That makes me nervous just thinking about it. It’s funny, I was sure NYU was my too choice but the closer we get to USC answer date I realize how badly I want the big pretty envelope!

what happens on April 1st???

@whisper

thanks! i completely forgot about my regional counselor lol … i’ll send him an email right now

@diver

april 1 isn’t really anything, we’re all just suspecting there will be a huge wave of status changes starting then because admissions will finally be done with the freshmen apps

no change here.

@diver:

April 1st is April Fool’s Day. So USC might send out fake acceptance letters. Watch out…

I know someone who got accepted to the same major that I applied to and she got her letter in mid-June. But that was 4 years ago.

One more day and our official two month wait begins, but hopefully we get our acceptances early so we can finally get to celebrating!

I wouldn’t place too much emphasis on last year. It appears USC has changed their methods in regards to notifying their students. For example, the status and back door links do not seem to be working this year. Sydney received her admission packet and as of her latest post, it was still “reviewing.”

As for freshman decisions, they were released on March 20. This was confirmed by someone who went on a tour and the admissions officer said they would release all decisions around March 20. Last year, the majority of students were notified earlier and in “waves.” The closer the date approached April 1, the higher chance the letter was a denial. This year they forewent that and just sent acceptances and rejections together.

So really there isn’t any indicator of acceptance/rejection up to this point huh?

Correct. Up to this point anyways. The back door links I posted do not work. Sydney did not experience a status progression as she was suppose to have. So far it only is one person, therefore the statuses still might be an indication but I would not place too much faith in them.

Basically what I am trying to say is do not place all your belief in the statuses. I’ve been saying this for the last 40 pages. Someone is going to “forwarded” to the committee and instead of a quick progression they’ll be “stuck” for sometime. This is going to lead to chaos and people saying “I’m rejected. What do I know, etc.” Truth is all signs are pointing that USC has changed their system and that what worked last year or 2 years ago might not be the case this year.

UPDATE

We have received your application, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. (freshmen status)…

We have requested your spring term grades.

God, I hope they don’t request Spring Grades from me. I really don’t think I’ll be able to hold up my 3.688 GPA this semester (19 credits, mostly junior level classes, my head is going to explode).

aw;eorijawe;roaijwer;awre

I think my head has exploded three times already.

How is everyone dealing with the anxiety of waiting along with normal stress from school? I don’t know how I can possibly make it another month! Any tips?

I’m the absolute worst person to take tips from. I stress out like it’s my job. And there’s not much to do at my college (a huge reason why I’m transferring) so I can’t really get my mind off of ****.

Really the only things I have are basketball and homework, and my homework is starting to turn into a stress-producer as well.

hey guys!
i’m new to this thread but i’ve been reading around and i totallyyy agree - the wait is killer! all i’m doing is homework and studying and it’s become such a chore! =[
