<p>I want to get into USC so badly… UGHHH :(</p>
<p>USC sent me a sassy letter saying that they werent going to ask again for my transcript (i have 4 transcripts from different schools and one of them was an “alternative” school that used written evaluations instead of letter grades) and i said “but i did sent those transcripts a month ago! I think maybe you have them but just dont know it since they dont look like traditional transcripts” and then they said “oh yes, we have it.” and hung up. lol.</p>
<p>sigh… when will my status change…</p>
<p>do you guys know if our application is looked at by our 1st and 2nd choice major to decide if we are accepted or not? or its all from the central admissions to decide?</p>

<p>The decision is made by the department of your first-choice major. If you were not admitted to your first-choice major, then the department of your alternative major will evaluate your application, I believe. The general admissions only check if our applications are complete and not missing any documents so they can send them to each department.</p>
<p>My status hasn’t changed yet either but I stopped worrying about it anymore. As Mitch said, the trend seems a bit different from last year so let’s just wait for our sweet packages!</p>
<p>I spoke to a USC counselor and he told me that USC not only considers us for our first and second choice majors but also for the 3rd program of interest on our USconnect profile</p>

<p>I think everyone will have their status changed soon, the freshmen’s evaluation is over, so they’ll start evaluate transfer students starting today, i guess.</p>

<p>my boyfriend goes there, which makes me want to go there more. At first, I never thought USC was anything special… until I went to USC to visit my bf. I stayed at his dorm, and everything there was sooo prettyyyyy!! That was after when I visited UCB and UCSD… the dorms compared to USC’s dorm is incomparable… locks that operate like hotels… 2 bathrooms for a suite… </p>
<p>USC is just awesome! Also, the alumni network is amazing!!! I plan on going to China to work, and I know USC will grant me many many connections that will be super useful towards my career! </p>

<p>really? the USC dorms are crap compared to ones at Northeastern haha. but we have gorgeous upper class housing because the city of Boston is trying to get us on campus haha.</p>
<p>my gf goes to USC, which is initially the reason i applied. but when i visited i fell in love w the campus and the academics are amazing. not to mention the party scenes also intense</p>
<p>@deltron i actually always thought the dorms at SC weren’t as special as they should be too … i love SC and its my dream school but i think thats the one thing they haven’t gotten around to doing; remodeling their dorms. for 50k a year, i think they should be AMAZING. most universities have the key card system in place. i know Oxy does, and thats a small liberal arts college.</p>
<p>ehh for me its not a big deal. most people only live on campus for a year or two, so I dont mind that the money goes to something else</p>

<p>I have to submit my acceptance paperwork to CSUN by May 1st…I hope I hear from USC by then :-/ With my luck I’ll accept CSUN and then get the big USC envelope in the mail the next day…</p>
<p>can’t you just accept then not go if you get into sc? I already sent my acceptance to ucsb but im not going if I get in sc</p>
<p>@MDG … wait until the last week of April. if you don’t hear from SC, i think you’ll have to do what bartoli is saying. submit a deposit for CSUN then withdraw from the school if you get into SC. how much is CSUN’s enrollment deposit?</p>
<p>Just tell CSUN you’re waiting for a decision from another school and ask if you can have an extension on the deadline.</p>
<p>Can someone tell me what I need to submit for the financial aid stuff? How do I change info on the CSS Profile?</p>
<p>@AF … CSS is really annoying. you have to print out the hard copy, make corrections on it, then scan it and upload it on the document portal on USConnect. Its on there as one of the documents as “CSS Profile Corrections/Changes”</p>
<p>Well, I don’t believe I have to put down a deposit, but in the acceptance letter that I’m suppose to electronically sign it says:</p>

Therefore, I agree that I will not consider any other offer from an institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music for the academic year 2011-2012, except with the express written consent of the Chairman of the Music Department at CSUN.</p>
<p>So, I can contact the chair of the music department and explain my situation…We’ll see in a couple weeks I guess.</p>
