USC 2024 Appeals

i’m extremely dumb and just realized I didn’t do a cover letter. am I screwed?

I talked about my battle with cancer and how I “fought on” through it… (get it, fight on). it’s not something that happened after my initial application but i didn’t mention it before so idk if that counts

Did you write about cancer in your original application

no, I initially didn’t because I didn’t want it to be viewed as wanting pity but I decided to talk about it in my appeal because I feel like it gave me a lot of strength and perspective that sets me apart

@fightonplease don’t worry about a stupid cover letter to just make you more anxious. Just listen to some music, relax, hope for the best and prepare for the worst! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for us both.

i forgot a cover letter too, i emailed my admissions counselor what would have been on it and she added it to my file.

@fightonplease I really think that is brave of you not to mention that in your main application and to not let something like that define you. if they don’t overturn an appeal like that I don’t know what they would overturn

thank you so much!! that actually really made me feel more confident about it, I am so extremely anxious right now. wishing I would have emailed my admissions counselor my cover letter, but oh well too late. i’m hoping it doesn’t have too much of an effect.

it’s weird because I think we all know how much we deserve and how fine will be even if this one in a million shot doesn’t happen but I can’t seem to let go of it, all of me still wants it so bad!!

Almost 40k people have looked at this forum. I’m guessing at least 2000 if not more have appealed.

But then they did accept 2000 more than usual, so we’ll see how this goes.

Do y’all think usc will send an email right when decisions are posted or will we just have to keep checking our portals?

I think they will send the email bud.

i dont know for regular decisions they said there would be an email but there never was, it was just updated on our portals so who knows

What do you mean? The whole appeal IS the cover letter explaining why you are appealing. And you upload it from within your login.

cover letter is just your name, birthday, school, and school address that precedes your actual appeal letter @ElenaParent

@ElenaParent No, USC states that the appeal must come with a cover sheet that has your full name, date of birth, and school name. This page was supposed to be separate from the appeal letter itself.

The cover letter is a separate page with your one page letter with your basic information such as name school address and birthdate

Was anyone offered TTP program that also appealed ? Does this hurt your future relationship with USC ?

Hi all this might be a weird question but I was offered to take part in the Trojan Transfer program (and I appealed as well), and they had a little banner in the corner of my portal stating that meetings with counselors for the transfer program would start early may…I just checked my portal and now that little banner is gone and I haven’t received any e-mails about such meetings? I guess it’s a little different due to COVID-19 but the banner just disappeared. Has that happened to anyone else who got offered Trojan Transfer? It might just be a glitch and I’m definitely over-analyzing…Thank you!
