USC Admitted Transfer Students 2008

does anyone know how long is takes for them to evaluate our transfer credits?

To anyone who can help me -

I just committed last night around 7 pm and created my email today. My problem is this: Orientation is this Friday, but I have to wait 7 days to even register or complete any pre-orientation hw. I’m currently locked out of anything in this regard. Any advice or help would greatly be appreciated.

Oh, yeah. I just got my package today. Does financial aid come in a separate package? If so, when should I expect it?

I’m just so confused now…

hey da rib king…im in the same position as you. I made my usc email account right now, and the orientation office told me I should be able to log in and sign up for orientation by tomorrow. Just keep trying to log in and make sure you check all of the checkmarks. It does not take 7 days…

Bshahian -

Thanks for the response. I, too, was told to keep trying. I doubt it’ll update by the deadline though… Ugh… And here I thought the anxiety was over… So much for that.

Any information on Financial Aid packages? Do they come after the admissions package?

da rib king - In a recent email I got from the FAO they said it takes 1-2 weeks from the date you’re admitted. But some people have received it sooner.

how do you get your email set up??

Thanks, Snarekick.

What’s the latest on your situation?

@laguna- hah! i went to Mt. Sac also. I’m from Diamond Bar.

Nice, are you going to the july 25th orientation?

wow Strawberryjam! youre from walnut??!! thats pretty close to me! im from rosemead and i went to pcc also!! lets meet at orientation on the 25th!

also, is neone commuting this year? seems like im the only one and i feel really left out =(

hi everyone! --just got my package in the mail yesterday =) i am just so confused on what to do now because my decision to go to USC depends on my financial aid and they’re probably not going to finalize that for another week or so. this sucks b/c orientation is on friday and i have to start looking for housing but i can’t do any of this or even register for orientation until i find out about my financial aid award. anyone else in the same position?

sunkissed -

i’m in the same exact situation as you. btw, congrats on getting in.

wintercandyapple -

you’re not the only one commuting this year. btw, congrats to you as well.

P.S. Has anyone noticed that most of the classes are at capacity. What’s this going to mean when we finally do get to register for classes?

da rib king- For my registration, the advisors made the core classes larger for Communication & Journalism when the limit was reached. This may happen with you, as well. I don’t think it’s a problem of wether you will have classes, so much as the fact that the GE classes you like may be full.

da rib king --thanks! congrats to you too! did you pay for enrollment commitment deposit anyway so you can go to the orientation?

this is pretty ridiculousss… i just contacted a bunch of different offices and the best i got was another student at the orientation programs office --she told me that she spoke to the director who said that no special circumstances will be made for the people like us who got admitted so late. the best we can do is miss out on orientation and wait for our financial aid packages, then decide if we’re actually going, and then pay the enrollment deposit and register for classes with an adviser over the phone or whatnot… and of course by then there will be nothing left. i don’t want to miss out on such an important experience that will kick off the rest of my life at USC but i also don’t have the $300 or so to gamble away if i end up deciding not to go. it would be great if they would open up one more orientation session at a later date.

Wintercandyapple- Yay! More PCC-ers! Yess we should meet up! :D

Who else is going to orientation this friday??

I’m not sure who you guys are getting but a few people on here have been able to register for orientation despite being admitted late or been told to just show up for orientation and register that same morning.

What are you guys going to do about the meal plans? We can just put money on our cards and just use that anytime correct? We dont need a meal plan, for us transfers and upper-classmen.

hey…does anybody know what the process is of transferring to marshall from clas? Has anybody attempted? I’ve been looking into it…and was wondering if anyone had any indepth info?

My transfer credit report was done so damn wrong. These people need to get their act together.

Is it mandatory for us to pre-order our USCards? I’m too lazy to take a picture. Will there be a time and place for us to take our pictures at orientation?
