I would like to hear from anyone who would like to comment on whether or not they would choose usc again if they could go back…and some reasons for or against…thanks

Coming from someone who didn’t want to go to USC in the second, but was forced to go there for financial reasons, I never did any research into the school before I actually showed up at Orientation. But from day 1 I fell in love with this school, and I’m missing it right now and can’t wait to get back on campus!

Reasons to Go:
Beautiful campus
Southern hospitality
Offers great merit scholarships
State school, so lots of options if you’re undecided
Academics (especially the business school)
Food isn’t half bad
Football football football!!
Greek life (one of the most beautiful Greek Rows in the country, arguably)
Some of the better dorms, on average, in the SEC

Reasons Not to Go:
You’re a Yankee? (only joking, we’ll welcome y’all too!)
Your specific major has a better program elsewhere

I can’t really think of any huge reasons why someone wouldn’t want to go to USC. Even though I said at the beginning of this post that I was extremely against the school, it was actually because I had my eyes set on another college, and didn’t give USC a chance.

Do most frat students live in the frat? and what are good off campus choices for someone without a car

I assume you’re asking about both fraternity and sorority members. Yes, a lot of them do live in their respective houses, but with (in some cases) hundreds of members and only one house, you’re going to find a lot of Greek members living in off-campus houses and apartments.

There are a few student-oriented off-campus apartment places that offer shuttles to and from campus. The Woodlands, Copper Beech, U Oaks, etc. all have shuttles available. However, they usually stop running at around 6pm so if you have to stay on campus after that you’ll have to find another way home. Also, the Aspyre apartments are pretty much on campus (located near Strom), as are the Lofts at USC (near Swearingen, which is on the outskirts of campus). There are also some houses off-campus that are within walking distance, but you’ll have to do some research into those.

I would choose USC again.

Although, I think I’d do more research when it came to finding the “right” school for me.

I kind of happened onto USC. Up until October of senior year, I was pretty dead set on applying Binding Early Decision to another school. However, money became a factor and I had to be realistic, so I looked into my state flagship (where my dad went for law school) and I randomly decided to apply there the Sunday before the application was due (which was a Friday).

After being here, it’s just been a really absolutely wonderful experience and made me realize that I actually do love being in the south and I love being at a large school. There are so many wonderful opportunities here and so many different types of people. I feel really fortunate to be able to attend school here.

At the same time, because I’ve been at USC, if I were to go through the college process now with the knowledge I have, I would probably also consider several other large southern schools. Having more options would have been smarter financially.
