USC Ambassadors

Does anyone have experience as an Ambassador or their student being an Ambassador? My dd is applying and she knows the odds are slim but I wasn’t sure what the time commitment is and if it is a paid position?

Two of D’s roommates do it and really enjoy it. Looks like they had some info sessions that should have answered time questions. My impression is that it is totally doable. D’s friends have time for this and EC’s including greek life, bible study and other clubs and demanding course work (one premed, one double major). I’m pretty sure it is basically volunteer although there may be some paid opportunities.

I was a University Ambassador and found it to be one of the more rewarding experiences of college. The organization can be somewhat time intensive, but they definitely work with you on scheduling since most Ambassadors are heavily involved on campus. Getting to know potential Gamecocks and their families and sharing your experience is a great way to give back to the school. I would absolutely recommend that she go out for the club.

Ok - thanks. Scmom12 - I am sure my dd knows about what the time commitment is (she is very organized and I am sure attended the info sessions). I am just trying to not “pry” and ask her too many questions  It is good to hear that it is doable with greek life and a demanding course load (both of which dd have). She absolutely LOVES USC and was a tour guide and ambassador for her high school so she has some experience - albeit on a smaller scale!

^^Ha. Know what you mean. That’s why I’m a champion googler since I tend to check everything out and then keep my mouth shut unless Ds ask.
