USC and UCs

Hey guys! I’m currently a junior attending a very competitive high school in California. The stats listed below will definitely change by the end of this year, but I want to know what are my chances currently. I’m hoping for an upward trend in my stats so please take that into consideration! I want to pursue dentistry in the future so my extracurriculars are dominant in that area. I will major in either Biology, Chemistry, BioChem, or Biomedical Sciences.

Please chance me for the following schools: USC, UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCR, UCI

  • SAT I (breakdown): N/A (Took the March 5th SAT but scores come out in May)
  • ACT: 34C (31E, 36M, 31R, 36S) Might take again in June
  • SAT II: Taking Math II and Biology E/M in June aiming for 780+
  • Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.92
  • UC GPA: I'm not sure but definitely 4.2+
  • Rank: 53/665 (Top 7.9% will definitely be top 5% after this semester)
  • Lots of ECs, Leadership positions, Shadowed many dentists (Long line of dentists in my family)
  • Created and founded a pre-dental club at my school

Looks like you are doing fine, though, surprisingly your rank seems to be rather low for your GPA. And you do not need to take ACT again!

Thank you for your advice! I go to an extremely competitive high school so maybe that’s the case.

^ Of course, your score can substantiate your claim.
