USC, CHAPMAN OR NYU

So im deciding between USC, Chapman or NYUs film school and I dont know which one is better. A lot of people say USC is not hands on at all until junior year and that their job placement sucks. But people say that NYUs job placement sucks as well because they are in NY and not LA and Chapman is so new to the industry that its hard for people to get jobs. Im basically asking which school has a better film program and helps you get a job later on? THANKS

No one can answer that for you because each person is different. If I were answering for me, I would choose Chapman, if they get you filming from the moment you arrive. I think it is very important to get as much experience with as many films and as many different people doing as many different roles as you can as a student.

But I think you may have the wrong impression about the school “getting you a job later on.” Your fellow students are the ones who will be your “in” to the industry. Get to know them, help them succeed with their films as well as your own. Let them see (and use) your talent. These people will become your colleagues in the industry.
