*******USC Class of 2020 Results/Discussion Thread**********

@gxssipgirl Hasn’t the housing and enrollment form always been there?

Ok I feel bad that everyone is freaking out about this message history thing. It has no correlation with rejection. I know for a fact that I am already accepted because I am an athlete and I had to go through admissions before I could sign my letter of intent in November. I still had to fill out my application as everyone else does and my package should come in the mail tomorrow because I live in Phoenix. My scholarship update from January is in message history. And the current message thing recently popped up with nothing under it.
I applied for Marshall Business Admin btw so the package is mainly to inform me whether or not I was accepted into the major.
I got a 35 on ACT, 4.0 UW GPA, weighted 4.6, attending USC on full athletic scholarship

I think if the scholarship message moved to the history message it means that there is a new message coming in which is a rejection letter. The acceptance has its own page. So if you see your scholarship message is in current situation then it most likely means acceptance.

My opinion is that the message location is random and not an indication of rejection or acceptance.

@collegecurious15 sure–here ya go: the username “awesomekid” (class of 2019) says here that her message moved down to “message history,” and if you check her posts on her profile you’ll see she was accepted!

I’ve already debunked it twice now (including this message), so how many more do I have to do to convince you? I need to sleep. lol

@kk no offense bro but I hope you’re wrong.

@choirsandstages lol I think people are still worried because some people who got an acceptance letter today said that the scholarship message is still in the current messages section

@scbound1 wow nice! 4.6 AND an athlete! What a stud! Which sport?

@texasgirl584 I think there’s gonna be no end to worries till we know the decisions.

I’m in the same boat! Accepted at Berk, but only accepted for spring at USC.

@Ko113g3B0und

Congratulations to those who have received an acceptance, and hang in there a bit longer for those who haven’t. I think this is absolutely the worse time - wondering if your mailman just misplaced your package or if your mail is just arriving later than your neighbor…or did you not get accepted? Agony.

For Socal, tomorrow (Friday) will be the day you have closure - (except for that one in a million random lost in the mail package) if you do not get a package in Socal, it is time to start mourning the loss and moving on. OC and San Diego will get theirs. Norcal will be blanketed, if you don’t get it in Norcal tomorrow, don’t lose hope, maybe the mailman is stuck in Bay Area traffic, but it is not a good sign. Much of the major urban areas across the country will receive theirs as well - then most everyone else by Saturday. Of course there are always a few outliers whose package shows up several days later, but very atypical, not common, and the portal updates by then.

Rejection letters should start arriving tomorrow and/or Saturday in Socal, IF they do it like last year, rejections have followed acceptances by a day or two. Many will get portal update then get rejection letter.

They posted the portal will be updated by noon Saturday. I have been wrong using history and can’t believe I am willing to put it out there again but… in the past few years they have updated it at 12:10am. So check after midnight Friday night/Saturday a.m. and see if they update it earlier than they are posting. It would be such a relief to some to get the news, good or bad. They may want to give people time to get mail on Saturday however, so may be waiting till noon. They seem to be doing it different this year.

Frankly, if they are gonna keep being old school and mailing acceptances, I think it should be done where it all goes next day Fed Ex and everyone gets it same day. Of course this would be outrageously expensive, but I don’t think they know how hard it is for kids to hear some got theirs, while they have to wait because they live farther away or their mailman had a bad day. The 24 - 48 hours after hearing about the first acceptance is sooooo hard.

Still hoping big time for you guys and particularly some of you long time posters - I am following along…

My scholarship notification has been sitting under message history for weeks, so honestly I don’t think it means anything

@scbound1 - as a parent of an NCAA Champion, let me say congrats on bringing in more greatness to the USC athletic community! Welcome to the family and Fight On!

@CADREAMIN thanks for the post! my son got waitlisted at Berkeley earlier today…hoping the USC package comes in the mail tomorrow…

@alphabetatrig congrats!!! What was your GPA,test scores and EC? Very impressive! So you scholarship notice moves to history? From what I read I thought it was good sign if a sign;)

@CADREAMIN so are we saying that OC is not Socal in terms of not getting any responses today? Meaning that there is hope for good news tomorrow?

Good luck @tanginapare! The years I was waiting on acceptances our mail didn’t come till after 4. ahhhh! I let mine (the second to USC) get the mail (we are rural so I was in the car while he got out and walked to the mailbox) and I can still see his face when he spotted the bright yellow envelope (acceptances were yellow that year) inside. It was like a 3 year old on Christmas morning, eyes full of joy, wonder, and happiness which is fun to see in them at 17-18 years old. That image is forever frozen in my mind. Just like one of those corny Coca-Cola commercials from years ago! Hope you see it too!

I’m starting to feel so defeated  so far I’ve only gotten into one college that’s actually good, and waitlistd everywhere else and I tried so danged hard. If I get rejected to USC I’ll just be so devastated. It’s my absolute dream. I haven’t even gotten into any backup schools such as Berkeley or UCLA  this really sucks. And I’m so scared I won’t get a package from usc tomorrow. Blah.

Oh ya, @Manhattansubway, not everyone in OC gets it the first day for sure. OC to San Diego tend to finish tomorrow. Don’t mean to prolong agony, but I would give it till tomorrow. Maybe mentally think you aren’t getting it if you are already there, then it will be a bigger surprise if you do. Gosh sorry, I know this is a hard time for you guys.

@chrisanna thanks! My weighted was 4.33, UW 3.98. 2270 SAT, and 700+ on 4 subject tests. EC’s were alright, nothing spectacular like building homes in Latin American or whatever, but stuff like hospital work, tutoring, etc.

And yeah my scholarship stuff goes to the History section. In the end this could very well be nothing at all, but I think there were a few people at least who were accepted and said their scholarship was in Current. But also, the athlete poster here said his was in History. I think it could very well be nothing tbh
