Personal Statement: A Nigerian Cultural Dance Team I was on in Eighth-Ninth grade and how much I hated it back then and what I’ve learned from it now.
Recommendation 1: pretty good. I did well in the class and I had known the teacher since Freshman year when I used to volunteer at booths for school application fairs with him.
Recommendation 2: probably amazing. I struggled at first in her AP Lit class but I came after school and wrote an essay every single day for 6 weeks until I got a lot better.

IMPORTANT EXTRA RECOMMENDATION: I got a recommendation from a USC board member/school’s biggest donor. He gives out 10-15 of theses every year and I applied for it and I got in( he thought for sure I would get in and I was so surprised that he believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself).

EXTRA STUFF
I REALLY wanted I work hard for this school. I knew I wasn’t getting in on my GPA so I worked my butt off to get straight As my first semester. I met with Mr. Busia, the admissions counselor for my region 3 times. I’ve emailed him over a dozen times with different questions. And MOST IMPORTANTLY, after an interview with one the schools most influential board members, I recieved a special letter of recommendation from one of their Board Members/benefactors.
DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE!!!
Sorry if the grammar is wierd I’m typing this all on my phone.

I also got in to UCSC, UCSB, Boston University and Barnard College at Columbia University.
I got rejected to UPenn(ED), UCDavis, UCSD, UCLA

@smittiejay Congrats! Where are you located ?

@angiepie congrats! My grades are pretty similar, great morale boost.

Congrats! Could you tell us if your scholarship rejection is under current or message history? @angiepie

@angiepie oh shit Bay Area is here! Congrats! What did your message portal say? Awesome

Is all of this message stuff only for scholarship recipients?

No it only shows if u applied before Dec. 1st @graceann

I live in so cal and nothing yet

Where is your scholarship rejection? @DirtyDonut

@DirtyDonut has your mail come today yet?

How do you check the USPS? I live in San Jose

Y’all, don’t scare everyone about this “information about the scholarship process” message stuff again. There have been people accepted with their message under “current message” and there have been people accepted with their message under “message history.”

@hopefuluscbound these acceptance packets are not trackable so don’t worry about it.

@mayamcg the mail comes around 2:30 but people who live less than 15 minutes away from me were accepted yesterday :frowning:

We’re just trying to see if there’s a connection between regular fall admits and the location of the scholarship rejection. This info will help this year’s students and future students, but we do need a larger sample.

@choirsandstages so far, at least this year, it seems to possibly have a correlation. It could be nothing, but doesn’t hurt to check.

I live in SoCal and didn’t receive anything yesterday. Btw I am 1 1/2 hours away from USC.

@DirtyDonut hang in there!

Any letters on the east coast yet?
