Omfggggg, I got in. Computer engineering, I’m honestly so surprised. I was waitlisted at ucla for materials engineering lol. Also, from the bay area.
Are you a SCion (legacy)? @midnightsnack
I’m in Disneyland right now and my parents called me from home saying that I GOT IN!! DISNEY IS MAGICAL OMG
Accepted! From Chicago! International Relations and Global Economy Major.
Mail came today, no acceptance or denial, and I’m in a 2 day zone PA… Guess my California Dreams are over
rejected- political science (just received my rejection letter in the mail, I live about 2 hours north of LA)
this is no surprise, as this was a major reach school! I am committed to SDSU, but congrats to everyone who got in and go trojans!
Stats:
SAT- 1270
GPA- 4.3
around 100 hours of community service
worked 20 hours/week junior & senior year
10 AP’s
strong essays
scion- my grandpa attended USC
@toastiecheez go to collegesimpy.com and see what schools are still accepting applications. Colorado School of Mines is also an amazing school for engineering.
@PAwind98 We are with you in PA and sad…unless package mailman comes…sometime we get separate deliveries when there are packages…but I am pretty sure its a no…sorry for you! We didnt get the denial either but I think they come regular mail not priority. :((
@DreamforIvy If you’re at Disneyland does that mean you’re in a one day time zone and happened to get it today?
Got in today from VA!
Guys, don’t lose hope. I almost did after getting rejected from 5 schools in a row but always remember that your future is what you make of it and that there is always hopeee <3
@fighton2017 thank you for posting your stats. My daughter had very similar stats to you and was also rejected. She was ranked 5th in the nation for 3 years for a martial art. Took 2nd at jr olympics. Her college acceptances were pretty much identical to you. Computer science is a killer to get into.
@xindisun99 Congrats! Where in VA? NOVA, etc.?
@CaBeachMom technically yes I have “ties to the Trojan family” they put that in the letter
So if you didn’t receive a rejection letter or a package but the mailman came already ( in a 2 day zone) does that mean it’s probably a rejection?
My son was rejected in Engineering. He had a 36 ACT and a perfect GPA with AP/IB courses. He’s been accepted at UCLA with Regents, Berkeley, University of Michigan, University of Chicago, to name just a few. Plus, I’m an alumni of USC. We visited campus twice and he did an interview. We never visited University of Chicago or U of M (although he did a local interview with Chicago) and he was admitted at both of them. Don’t let anyone tell you that demonstrated interest is important to admission. Just no rhyme or reason behind their decisions. They apologized in the reject letter, given his legacy status, and suggested he apply as a transfer student. No thank you! If he couldn’t get in with his stellar academics and EC’s and essays from high school, who needs them. Never seeing a dime from me again! Sorry to vent … He has a lot of exceptional options, so no complaints there. Just really unhappy with USC right now.
Mail should be here in 30 minutes. I know I’ll be rejected, and I’ve already been accepted to two of my top choices, Boston U & Fordham. Not sure why, but waiting for rejection from USC is making me sick. I literally can’t see straight
@boymom16 Yes, sad week overall, the full emotion hasn’t hit yet, sort of just a glazed over feeling… best of luck to your son with whatever decision he makes!
@hopefulfilmstudent Haha no… I live in Arizona! So that’s 2-Day!
CONGRATS all USC admits!! Here is your unofficial guide to surviving freshman year at SC. Fight on!
