Anyone from PA who’s still not heard anything
is it hard to get into the jewish studies major?
@helloominny @jiminnyoo i hope it comes out before ivy!
Yes.
Noticed a couple of well-qualified NMF who were rejected. Wondering if there is a relationship to the large scholarship (1/2 tuition) that they offer NMFs and trying to limit the #s? I could be totally off base.
it’s in the comment section where they said CA is gonna be released after 3:30
@WWWard can you help shed some light on this?

@g8rgal93 It means accepted to USC but not to your first or second choice major also. My younger daughter applied to USC and SCA in 2017 and was admitted but Undeclared herself then. In her case, she enrolled and internally transferred into SCA during her freshman fall term.
Hi all-
This is in response to all the spring admit questions and comments. I am a parent of two spring admits (class of 2019) and today, my youngest son was also admitted as a spring admit. We are thrilled! His two older brothers/twins graduated in 4 years (same as those admitted in the fall). One is about to graduate with a masters degree from USC. They both have jobs in Los Angeles and are happy. They are equal with all the kids you are seeing now who are posting as fall admits.
I will keep my reasons and advice for why being a spring admit is great:
- If you are a spring admit, have a plan. Of my two boys, the best option was the study abroad program for the fall vs. SMC. The credits transfer (both programs). However, the London option chosen my one of my sons was the preferred choice and he made lifelong friends who all graduated on time. In fact, they all did a group senior graduating picture together last May.
- You are a USC student as of now (if you accept) and unless you tell someone in January 2021, no one will know you are a spring admit (I promise). You are not treated any different other than start dates.
- Other colleges offer spring admission and it's fairly common across the United States.
- Is it a waitlist? I have no idea although I do know my youngest son, who was just admitted today, has very similar high stats as those being posted.
- My advice I gave my sons (way back in 2015 and is the same today) is that you have to want USC more than you do being a fall admit some place else. USC was their dream school and I know they were very fortunate to be offered a spot as a spring admit in their 2019 class.
Spring Admit Students - College admissions is hard enough on your emotions, so don’t fret your admittance to USC. This is a big deal! USC is an elite college and spring spaces are limited. They chose you … celebrate this achievement!!! Congratulations to all the spring and fall Class of 2024 admits!
Fight On!!
@ccstratt Yes. There is always a chance via appeal. A larger # than normal got in that way last year.
@WWWard what was that number? I’m not sure where to find that information.
Any CA still no decision?
Son is an NMF (and NMS as we just learned, actually).
I do not think their NMF scholarship is automatic.
Their merit scholarship list says NMFs are “considered” if they name USC as first choice:

@ccstratt I do not recall exactly, but I think that someone said the # almost doubled last year.
Here is last year’s thread on the topic:
By May.
Is California out yet?
@LucasFire792 not yet
