USC Class of 2024 Applicants Thread

Does anyone know if it’s possible or easy to switch majors from, say, Biochemistry to Neuroscience or Psychology? The later was my first and most intended major as a Pre-Med and thankfully they’re in the same school.

We didn’t get the Veritax request.

@HKimPOSSIBLE Easy breezy, especially in same school - it’s a trip to your advisor, or at orientation if you want to do it before. Can be done anytime.

That’s the beauty of USC and why people are willing to pay the price to go there - complete major flexibility, with double majors, minors and ability to change. Even between schools can be done, sometimes there are pre-reqs to changing, but it most situations can be worked out (depending on grades of course)!

This may be the biggest influencer come decision time for many.

My son just found out he was accepted to the University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering.

Congratulations to all accepted USC students!

Stay safe! Stay healthy!

Applied SCA writing for screen&tv, but acceptance letter says she was accepted to “open/undecided” and Provost’s office…what does this mean??

received the VeriTax email couple weeks ago

I am very upset. I am a current USC student and my younger brother has been rejected. Obviously having very difficult reaction to this news. He is an excellent student and has great involvement, he has a preexisting condition diagnosed within the last year (diabetes), is a varsity skier, and is very successful in extracurricular relating to a business major. I am not quite sure how to cope with these things as I believe he is smarter than SO MANY of the business students I know at school, especially with his test scores.

Is there a chance for appeals? I’m just upset and confused for him.

@CADREAMIN you seem to be very knowledgeable

@TheVulcan I love you so much right now I can’t describe it.

I thought it automatically meant you didn’t get in if you didn’t get the vertex form.

Cheers. appreciate it mate

spring admit. anyone know how/ how well spring students adapt?

@CindyLeuWho My Son was admitted and we did not receive the Veritax request.

I’m a Spring admit and applied for the 5 year architecture program but was switched to undecided. Is there any chance to get into that program now?

@ElenaParent I’m sorry for your daughter. Double legacy and strong stats. It’s so unpredictable. Best wishes.

Chicago - We received the Veritax verification. D was accepted for Spring.

I got in as a Spring Admit! I am quite surprised. Definitely thought I would be a rejection but USC has been my dream forever!

Fight On!

Has anyone from canada still not heard anything???

@ccstratt I will pm you later. Super busy and have to get some work done !

hi! i live in boston, massachusetts and i have still not received my decision… my friends living in the area already recieved admission. should i be worried?

@EitherCoach

Re: the Veri-Tax request issue, the questions would need to be posed a bit differently…

  1. did you receive the Veri-Tax request.

  2. If so… were any such individuals then rejected?

Because not everyone who applied also applied for FA. Not everyone who applied for FA completed all the steps. And not everyone who applied for FA and completed all the steps got the Veri-Tax request too.

But, basically… if you got a VeriTax request, did you get in or get rejected? So far, I do not recall anyone saying that they got the Veri-Tax request but then got rejected.

@hw5202 hey im from ny and although my friends in school and the area have received their decisions, i still have not.

@helloominny i still haven’t either!! what is going on

@TheVulcan Did you apply for financial aid for USC?
