@typiCAmom that’s what I call demonstrated interest. It works. Woohoo for ya’ll!
Have you checked your social media? They check it for character. If you had anything socially incorrect, that could be the reason.

Congrats everyone got in, great school.
Today’s the big day for merit
so nervous. Does anyone have a time estimate
@momandtimr I am not exactly sure of the appeals process. Does the rejection letter point to such? You may want to review last year’s appeals thread…
Maybe if you can find a successful CC member who went through it all before to contact, that could help guide you. You can also of course email and ask your assigned admissions counselor.
Good luck…
As for merit decisions today, I suspect that it will again be portal updates coupled with an email. Since there are far fewer to notify, hopefully it will occur before mid-day pacific time. Good luck to those waiting to hear…
My D did not either. No visit or any connection with an AO. I think she wrote great essays, though, and had researched the school pretty thoroughly so she knew what to write for “why USC”. So perhaps the “love” can be expressed in various acceptable ways.
But when I read about the accomplishments of some who are declined, I think sometimes these decisions can be somewhat random, especially at a school like USC which gets so many highly qualified applicants.
I was accepted and am so happy!!
My info:
Mixed Race Female (African American/White), out of state (obviously my username)
major: Econ/mathematics
35 ACT
3.99 UW gpa

8 years of local political activity and volunteering
Leadership in school’s student government
6 years of foreign language
I also consider myself to be a pretty strong writer and basically professed my love in the why usc essay.
I hope this helps someone:)
