CSUN and SCSD did whole packets with certificates, stickers, crowns, and magnets.
Reed sent a whole packet that in less a personalized letter, a journal, a pencil, and copy of The Invisible man with a cute message inside.
Those have been the best so far (my friend got into reed not me)
Baylor included a certificate in their packet, but their video was the best. Personalized for my D with her name throughout (students holding up a sign saying, "Welcome [first name], a box on move-in day with her name on it, showing her name in situations like this like 5 times throughout). It was one worth sharing and made her feel super welcome.
I honestly don’t want to know anymore. Ignorance is bliss. At least right now I have a chance of getting in still. If I find out that I got rejected there will be no more hope.
@momof3co I love those kind of special videos! They really can be emotional! While waiting on the packages with uncertainy was brutal, I loved the moments and all the stories on here of finding them, chasing the mailman, parents sneaking a peek…I can still see my son spotting his package in the mailbox and looking over at me with a “is this what I think it is?!” look, then his whole face lighting up as he took it out of the box, then a couple years later, one of my D’s walking up the driveway with it held triumphantly over her head. Great memories - for all of us.
I hope you all get a great memory of getting into USC, no matter how it happens, with splash or not! A win is a win!
@mom2jw I auditioned for Choral Music and I’m from the LA area. So it was a quick drive for us. So glad I got all my auditions in before the coronavirus craziness…
Can anyone confirm that the veritax form is a possible indicator of acceptance? Not all financial aid applicants received that verification and I heard current usc students that have financial aid use veritax
Freshman at USC here, so wanted to share my experience of last year
I was in a 3-day delivery zone so I knew I was going to find out via portal and admissions previously said that the portal would be updated at 5 PST on saturday. Saturday at 4, however, my friend texted me that she got an email from USC about her decision being posted on the portal. I checked my email and nothing was there, but I went to check the portal just in chase.
Opened the portal and my decision was posted, I clicked view admissions decision, and the acceptance letter was there. No bells and whistles but still an incredibly joyous moment. I scrolled down to the next page and information about what major/school i was accepted into was listed.
Best of luck the class of 2024! Just know the only thing you can do at this point is try to relax; but if you have any other questions for a current student, feel free to reach out!
@200287791 Hello! Did you ever get a request for additional financial documents or something like veri-tax? I didn’t get any and USC is my dream school, I really want to be accepted. Thank you!
@biochemmajor11 VeriTax is NOT an indicator of acceptance. I’ve researched the posts from last year and someone who received the VeriTax email DID NOT get accepted.
