USC Class of 2024 Applicants Thread

CSUN and SCSD did whole packets with certificates, stickers, crowns, and magnets.
Reed sent a whole packet that in less a personalized letter, a journal, a pencil, and copy of The Invisible man with a cute message inside.

Those have been the best so far (my friend got into reed not me)

UVA and Michigan had some fun confetti while Georgia tech had little yellow jackets as confetti

UConn had a cute (although rather cheesy) video, as well as little huskies as confetti. That’s been my favorite so far!

We’ll all just have to sit tight and wait. In about 4 days we’ll all know.

Baylor included a certificate in their packet, but their video was the best. Personalized for my D with her name throughout (students holding up a sign saying, "Welcome [first name], a box on move-in day with her name on it, showing her name in situations like this like 5 times throughout). It was one worth sharing and made her feel super welcome.

I honestly don’t want to know anymore. Ignorance is bliss. At least right now I have a chance of getting in still. If I find out that I got rejected there will be no more hope.

@momof3co I love those kind of special videos! They really can be emotional! While waiting on the packages with uncertainy was brutal, I loved the moments and all the stories on here of finding them, chasing the mailman, parents sneaking a peek…I can still see my son spotting his package in the mailbox and looking over at me with a “is this what I think it is?!” look, then his whole face lighting up as he took it out of the box, then a couple years later, one of my D’s walking up the driveway with it held triumphantly over her head. Great memories - for all of us.

I hope you all get a great memory of getting into USC, no matter how it happens, with splash or not! A win is a win!

@mom2jw I auditioned for Choral Music and I’m from the LA area. So it was a quick drive for us. So glad I got all my auditions in before the coronavirus craziness…

omg we meet again

honestly thank god for all of the college decision reaction videos on youtube because those are the only thing keeping me sane right now lol

@ac_rome02 What major did you apply for and where are you from??

Here’s a little lockdown and waiting for results entertainment. One of the (if not THE) greatest threads of all time. Enjoy!

It’s got it all - drama, comedy, intrigue, conflict and more! Keep reading till you find out what happened.

Does anyone know when decisions are coming out?

@megantaylor probably this Saturday

Can anyone confirm that the veritax form is a possible indicator of acceptance? Not all financial aid applicants received that verification and I heard current usc students that have financial aid use veritax

Freshman at USC here, so wanted to share my experience of last year

I was in a 3-day delivery zone so I knew I was going to find out via portal and admissions previously said that the portal would be updated at 5 PST on saturday. Saturday at 4, however, my friend texted me that she got an email from USC about her decision being posted on the portal. I checked my email and nothing was there, but I went to check the portal just in chase.

Opened the portal and my decision was posted, I clicked view admissions decision, and the acceptance letter was there. No bells and whistles but still an incredibly joyous moment. I scrolled down to the next page and information about what major/school i was accepted into was listed.

Best of luck the class of 2024! Just know the only thing you can do at this point is try to relax; but if you have any other questions for a current student, feel free to reach out!

@200287791 Hello! Did you ever get a request for additional financial documents or something like veri-tax? I didn’t get any and USC is my dream school, I really want to be accepted. :frowning: Thank you!

@biochemmajor11 VeriTax is NOT an indicator of acceptance. I’ve researched the posts from last year and someone who received the VeriTax email DID NOT get accepted.

Any chance they will release decisions slightly earlier since they aren’t messing with packages this year?
