USC Class of 2024 Applicants Thread

i don’t see them releasing packages next Saturday

I can assume that merit is considered separate from financial aid. I was notified a finalist for merit way before I submitted any financials aid info so they couldn’t have used that as a determining factor

There will be no packages this year. Only portal (and e-mails).

Super wide shot but does anyone see on their usps daily digest a package coming from anaheim? I know USC doesn’t put tracking so just a long shot. p

@cysss2 it has been confirmed by the AO that there will be no packages this year!

@CADREAMIN ahhh for it thank you! Also, as an aside, for those who wonder why I was asking about merit (since most merit has been decided), S is a music applicant so those merit decisions come out later.

Hi everyone. I would just like to echo a sentiment that was expressed earlier about this (and all) forums. Anxiety is running high right now for many of us, especially the amazing students that have worked so hard to get to the point that they are in the running for an amazing school like USC. There have been a few comments made that I believe are making some posters feel awkward about asking potentially redundant questions.

I personally would like to say to the posters on this thread, especially the students, that you shouldn’t feel like you are possibly going to annoy those of us on this thread. As long as everyone is respectful, which you all have been, that is all that matters. Ask away. That’s why we are here.

If the rest of us find ourselves annoyed at redundant questions, then we just don’t need to reply to them. If you really have something to say to someone, then send them a private message. Reminding posters that they are asking redundant questions and counting and reminding them of their prior posts is completely unproductive and sets a negative tone.

There, I said it. Let’s all continue to be supportive of each other.

I wish you all the best.

@collegemomjam appreciate it

did anyone not apply for FA and receive the veritax email?

1192?

@biochemmajor11

I put veritax into the CC search bar and it came up with quite a few links to posts this year and from several other years worth of threads. Hope this helps!:slight_smile:

Hi everyone,

I keep seeing comments about how packages are not being released this year, and that is apparently from an admissions officer source, but do we know this for sure? 100%? My thinking is that wouldn’t they have already printed the letters and created the packages in late February/early March, so is there a chance packages could still be sent?

my mom said that she’s not surprised because she read that the virus can stay on cardboard for several days or something. I’m happy to ask her to find the source on that! maybe that has something to do with it. Or maybe just the whole package-stuffing process involves people being around each other too much. Just guesses

I’m hoping that they still sent out packages. The mailbox opening makes things more interesting!

it’s definitely not 100% for sure because I got the information from a reddit user on ApplyingtoCollege but they mentioned they emailed their admission counselor, and I wouldn’t know why someone would lie about it :frowning: I wish they were sending out packages but it seems unlikely.

@dbrusoccer Maybe they will next month, but definitely not in March for the initial decision release.

@jhope222 I am pretty positive that they won’t send out packages, the person posted a screenshot of the AO’s response. Still, the USC white/yellow packages are iconic and will be missed!!

No packages this year. Portal updates is the way this year.

USC just announced via twitter that decisions are being posted on Ivy Day, March 26. :frowning:

Damn an extra week huh

aw man… 8 more days of anxiety it is
