USC Class of 2024 Applicants Thread

@Racingfan53 said it so well…

That’s a great plan - have a number one choice, but have a great second option! Often times the ability to do that is a mindset more than anything else.

9 am PST and there’s nothing :frowning:

For those of us who are hoping it makes a difference for SDA; May The Postcard Be Ever In Your Favor.

I can’t take credit for that, it was @COmama24 , lol

Anybody get anything? If you did, can you state which region.

Portal says email will be sent first ? good luck everyone! Keep us posted

Hello everyone!
I hope y’all are doing good and the situation is not stressful (sure it is, I’m literally freaking out). I’ve read many times that the VSE is really hard to get into, and I applied there. I am a domestic “California” applicant but I studied abroad all my high school years ( I came in California this year, 12th grade). So I really think that I am going to be rejected because I didn’t even know about the SAT back then. I started prepping in July and the highest SAT score that I could have was a 1200( I’m freaking out because of this). We don’t have APs in the country I lived in and not so many ressources. There practically no ECs because it’s not how the system works. Students are just focusing on academics. However, I have 7-10 ECs mostly related to my field of study (Computer science) in an environment where students don’t have ECs, and I took IB classes for 2 years(because I wanted higher level classes). Note that IB classes were offered to 5% of students, it wasn’t popular AT ALL. Btw, the country is in Africa. I speak 3 different languages, English is not my first language. I learned English by myself when I came here in July 2019.
Sooo, as I said, I don’t think I have a chance because of my SAT score. I have pretty good grades but I think it’s not enough.
I AM FREAKING OUT ??

Good luck everyone! It’s been a long run… and we’ve all worked so hard throughout high school and even before that, even if we don’t get in, we’re still successful! And we will do great things!

Why am I so impatient right now?

I thought my portal updated and my decision was there, but in reality my portal just logged out lol.

Just wanted to say good luck to all. No matter what happens, it does not define who you are and it definitely does not define your worthiness as a human being. College admissions are unpredictable and there are so many factors that we can not control. For the meantime, let’s just enjoy the ride and wherever it takes us, it was meant to be. I always follow this motto “everything happens for a reason” and I 100% believe that everything that has ever happened in my life was for a reason! Lastly, no matter what, I am extremely proud of you for embarking on the journey of this whole college thing because boy this is one heck of a ride. No matter the outcome, just know that you came out as stronger person.

@joooee Love this. And also, a person is worth more than a rejection, acceptance, or waitlist.

I think I might’ve asked this already (so sorry if I did!) but is anyone else going to be attending community college and transferring to USC if not admitted today? I’m so scared to face the stigma against CC and transfer students…

okay can anyone tell me when the decisions are out what do we first see if we click inside? do we immediately know whether we are accepted or rejected?

@emiliafilms Please don’t be discouraged by the prospect of attending community college!! I really admire people who attend community college. It’s a tough thing to do and requires a lot of focus–I would respect you very much if you chose to take that path. I wish more people would go to CC.

The USC Dornsife instagram just congratulated students but my portal has no updates. Anyone get anything yet?

@bibiabiyeye I’m pretty sure there is a link that you click that says either, “view status update”, or “view admission decision”. It won’t pop up as soon as you log into your portal

@emiliafilms Bro if USC accepts me as a Spring Admit I will definitely go to CC and take my gen eds, then PROUDLY go to USC because the fact is that they selected us as Spring Admits because they want us, so you should be HIGHLY proud of that.

I am no genius but have watched countless college decision reaction videos to prepare for this moment

I checked all other college discussion posts for the fun of it, and I realized USC has a substantial amount of people interested in its college. There’s 84 pages of discussion for USC, most other colleges have like an average of 15 pages.
