UCI was the worst so far at decisions personally. So disorganized and unclear, and many waiting so long just to get rejected in a second wave they never really announced.
Promised my son we wouldn’t look at his portals… so this is my lifeline to see what’s going on!

I applied for the wrong major. I email them asking to switch my application from Dornsife to Viterbi, and they said they would. I then sent them an email asking if they wanted me to send them my supplimentals, because Viterbi had more than Dornsife, and they never got back to me. I sent them multiple emails after that asking but never got a reply.

@Petervk where are you located? Covid thing still on our portal, we’re west coast but not CA
@rthak202 How long ago did you contact them? I was able to email several admissions people at USC in late February and had them add on to my application file because I had won some awards and my gpa increased. Maybe they made the changes you requested and just weren’t able to email you back due to the virus or high demand?
Michigan also has a really awful process. They defer a ton of people and release decisions in waves over the following four months, but NEVER tell people what day and time to expect results. It leaves drives applicants with their heart set on UMich insane.
@rthak202 Emailed who? Your assigned admissions counselor specifically? plus the admissions email for Dornsife and Viterbi?
If you do not get in, I would appeal and submit documentation of all such communications. That is very strange for sure.
I did this back in January. Honestly I just thought I wouldn’t get a response. Don’t have very high hopes for today. I thought I was a competitive applicant. I guess the only thing I can do is wait for later today.

About how long did it take for USC to update everyone’s portals last year?
the corona thing is gone on my portal!! Im from NY
covid-19 message at the top disappeared when i relogged into my portal just now. i doubt it has any correlation with acceptance though, because theyre gonna need to put an update for everyone, accepted or rejected. I’m east coast. maybe this means that east coast is early in the lineup of releases if they do go by waves
