USC Class of 2028 — Regular & Early Action Decisions

My S just received a request to upload his mid-year grades, which we thought our school counselor sent way back end of January.

Anyone else received this email? Wondering if it’s an issue on USC’s side.

Can he check his portal to see if it was uploaded on their end? My son’s said it was received by USC on 2/7.

So it does show that it wasn’t uploaded. However, he remembers the portal showed that it was received before. He checked a while back and didn’t see any missing information.

He uploaded an unofficial copy since we’re on spring break and none of the school staff is available until next week.

If it looks personal email from your regional admission officer, it may be good sign. But it looks formal email, that isn’t any sign. Some people got these email in reddit.

( we can recognize it is personal or formal by their writing style.

It looks like a general email.

I dont think so, we did not receive one.

I meant a general email to ask my S to upload his mid year grades.

It is yet, positive sign.

My S got the same request today.

Did you get a request for mid year transcript or was it a mid year report?

Its a separate form your counselor has to fill out via the common app, but we had to ask her specifically to fill it out since not all schools need them.

It just says mid year grades which I assume it’s the same as the mid year transcript.

Our counselor sent it to all his other schools, marked as recieved end of January. I know she also sent it to USC. So I assume it’s just a glitch in their system that affected a few students.

Check in through common app. If usc download it. And it is on your portal too.

If you contact admission officer, and they say " oh we need it" then it is positive sign definitely. Some admission say " it is fine about missing " then it is not any sign yet.

Not sure how to check on the common app?

Just fyi their offices are closed till 3/18. It’s their spring break.

We don’t plan to call their office. Just curious how to check if his mid year grade report was downloaded on common app. I am not familiar with that process.

This is USC student screen shot: if it says what it shows on this photo, then they have it.
And if they asked again, it was just an email glitch or it was sent as mass email to everyone as reminder.
I don’t ever recall uploading mid year thru common app. It should come directly from your school counselor to each college your child applied to.

When you go to common app and click usc and see

This is usc in common app.

Well it was missing from his portal; however, we definitely submitted it before bc we checked the portal in the past, and it was there.

Anyways, doesn’t matter. We submitted again.

Good luck to everyone!

If the transcript was unofficial then they will remove it. It will need to come directly from his high school.

My deferred kid was told by USC that unofficial midyear was acceptable, but final transcript would need to be official.

It still shows received on his checklist two months later.
