Ah, thank you for correcting my ignorance! If I knew that at one point, I seem to have forgotten all about it. Forgetfulness - an unfortunate accompaniment of of the wisdom that is rumored to come with age!!!
Any portal astrology with this one?
if i didn’t get this, am i rejected? it says in my portal that my senior grades were uploaded 2x in march but i never did this myself so not sure why it says that. however, i never received a request for senior grades recently
I know from applying ea that the checklists are not that up to date and may not be reflective of what they have. My kid had an email exchange with an AO about this.
Your school counselor likely submitted your mid-year, which satisfied the requirement. Just because USC admissions or financial aid department isn’t asking for information (grades or financial documents) shouldn’t be seen as a negative. It just means they have what they need to complete your evaluation.
Most school counselors send mid year grades to all common app schools automatically
Economics/Mathematics
Good luck to everybody tomorrow! No matter what happens, FIGHT ON
Not really, mid year grades not mid year report. Cuase not all colleges want that form.
What is the difference between mid-year grades and mid-year report?
just curious, does econ major much difficult than other?
Grades are the transcript, and report is a form that your counselor fills out. I only realised that when one of my colleges had that missing and I asked… luckily only a week after the deadline.
Are there separate spots for the two on the USC portal, it looked like everything had been turned in to me.
Any astrology to look out for?
So on the FAST portal, everyone has a different 10 digift USC id ? I mean not the one of the applicant portal?
And more request for FA docs today.
Is that the 10 digit number next to student name (on FAST portal)? If so, then yes.
Yes, looks like previously they had a word " undergraduate" or applicant under that and it was related to astrology stuff but this year they don’t have that option.
Does anybody know what time the results should come out?
Today is the day! Students and parents alike are likely glued to the portal - but trying not to be - and finding it impossible. It’s spring, get outside, distract yourself if you can.
There will be a elation for a lot of you, but for many, many more - let’s call it 70,000+ (yes that’s a big number) there will be disappointment, heartbreak and angst that is a natural part of the process. We will see all of these today. You will experience them as you have with other results. In the end, there are those that will get in, but don’t end up with enough merit and/or financial aid, so won’t be able to attend. ugh. For some, the acceptance process is a clear ride, for others (most), it is full of emotional ups and downs. Even though mine got into USC and all ended well, the process had moments of pure torture. So prepare for this by knowing you (or your student) are going to college somewhere, and whether USC or not, new friends and experiences await. Wherever it is, commit to bring your own special magic. You determine your future, don’t let disappointment from any college determine your attitude toward the college that wants you.
If things don’t go your way, it’s ok (and expected) to be sad, or be pissed, and even jealous, but by the time a day to two passes - or set a deadline of by the end of the weekend - commit to shake it off best you can and start looking for things to love at the school that loves you in the end. Get your head to the place, “if USC doesn’t want me, I don’t want them.” Just know your special place is out there - because you will make it special. Rise up over rejection. Do great things to make it USC’s loss.
For years, I have always been encouraged by how supportive the posters are on the USC pages here (compared to some other sites). If you are struggling in this process, please talk to someone, even on a random site like this, find people to support you. They are out there, and we are here.
Please don’t let the numbers game of college admissions define you. Don’t let any school make you think you are not awesome. Especially a college that simply doesn’t have enough space for your awesomeness. It’s not you, it’s them. Regardless of the outcome, FIGHT ON!
I sincerely wish you all the best as we expect results around 3pm PST today.
