USC Class of 2028 — Regular & Early Action Decisions

D22 (current USC sophomore) had a spring admit friend who was NMF and she got the 1/2 tuition Presidential merit scholarship

It is just so crazy! Your kids have some amazing opportunities – with scholarships! I’m guessing USC was gauging their likelihood of attending/ yield protection. Let’s face it, they probably wouldn’t have picked USC, anyway, without the scholarships.

NOW, they have to pick from some amazing options and still might have some surprises next week. Keep Fighting On!

Is this a offer to the Trojan transfer program?

“this decision was especially difficult for us given your ties to the USC community. If you decide that you still wish to explore a path to USC, consider applying for admission as a transfer student. Students may apply to transfer to USC after at least one year of strong academic work elsewhere.” Then asking about filling out form and other information

D22 (NMF) got accepted to USC March 2022, put USC as first choice school in her NMSC portal in mid-April, accepted her USC admit offer at the end of April, and about a week later her Presidential 1/2 tuition scholarship showed up in her USC financial aid portal. (If I remember correctly…)

As I recall, there was no mention of NMF Presidential Scholarships with the initial acceptance. As long as your child has indicated USC as his first choice with NMSC, he will get it. You will get a financial aid statement in a week or so that will reflect the NMF Presidential Scholarship and probably NOT any other FA yet. The full picture will come a bit later, but well ahead of May 1.

I really do think a lot of the results make sense. Have nothing but best wishes for all those who got in USC!

Fight on!

Mine rejected USC and accepted CMU last Friday as well! We are visiting CMU in a couple weeks and he is very excited, although right now he is leaning toward Harvey Mudd or Notre Dame.

Few other private colleges started sending emails/letters that they will not be sending financial aid letters until 5/03.
How would that affect USC decision date? Are they planning to postpone one as well?

I have no firsthand experience with NMF but keep the faith. Last year my daughter was accepted as a spring admit. She had applied for a tuition exchange scholarship and thought her spring admit status might disqualify her. She finally got the scholarship in late April so hang in there!
Your son may want email the POC at USC. This will not only confirm his eligibility but also will show his interest in attending.

Anecdotally-heard that Spring admits are randomly selected from admit group from the different schools. No idea if that is true but makes sense why USC didn’t treat my daughter’s scholarship eligibility any differently compared to fall admits. Good luck!

When will FA come?

That is huge! Such a low admit rate for that one.

FA usually starts rolling out 5-7 days after RD. Some may see it end of next week. And it takes awhile for some to get it, meaning like mid April. Most will get by end of first week of April.

Rejected as two parent legacy, but accepted to all 3 Maine LAC’s and UVA. No worries.

It’s almost time to zoom in! We are visiting CMU too in early April!! We are flying on Sunday also to visit another school. We are expecting/hoping to get in another one from the remaining 6 schools to make our 3rd school visit, and to pick one from the 3.

Good luck to your son! Hope he end up picking the one that suits him the best.

Rejected and very disappointed 4.0/4.4, 1560, NMF, good EC’s, leadership, community service, overall strong application. Applied to Marshall. Well that is just the way the chips landed. Moving on, parents are more disappointed than the student  He has comprable choices though being in CA would be good
