USC Class of 2029 — Regular & Early Action Decisions

Usually between 1200-1400, but last two years have been 1245. In 2024, USC admitted an additional 1,245 students for spring from 82,008 applicants, bringing the total number of admitted students 8,094.

In 2023 USC received 80,790 applications and accepted 8,032 of them for the Fall 2023 semester. An additional 1,245 applicants were accepted for Spring 2024 admission.

Approx 650 enroll each year.

Ours was cleared and in review for 2 days and now they’ve added another request (401k rollover) and so it’s like we’ll never get through this. My daughter was accepted early, offered interview for trustee scholarship and we are STILL dealing with uploading a new document every 2 weeks. Wild.

Good morning everyone,
Just received a USC financial aid request 2 days before the decision. Is it a good sign? They wouldn’t bother if they were not considering my application ?

Based on discussion at the time of EA, I remember at least one person saying they had that request and then subsequently got in. Of course no idea if it was true, true and unrelated. And of course, I’m now panicking because we didn’t receive that request

What time are decisions released?

Usually 3-4pm PST.

It’s “humiliating” that USC gave you a $6,000 scholarship? Please don’t go to USC, I’m sure there are many students as gifted as you who were deferred admission who would love to be a Trojan. Financial aid is mostly fair, no one wants to pay full price but USC aids those who can’t.

For the ones letting their political bias or high admissions emotions cloud their view on things, there’s no convincing you that USC is as fair this year, as they were last year. THe scholarship interviews have always been upfront about all options and never hints that you’d get one award over another.

Plenty of cheaper universities that are “higher ranked” that you can go to. Being a Trojan for life ain’t cheap or easy.

Totally agree. In general this platform has a lot of kids who keep pushing for more (more T20s, ivies, acceptances, scholarships), which is an unhealthy and toxic mindset to follow especially when there are people here that are watching them complain about their dream

I was actually surprised when I found out USC still gave half off tuition for NMF until last year. My DD was a NMF so I looked at ALL of the options available during her cycle - and there weren’t many left. A comparable one to USC was Boston U’s at 25k, so USC’s is now lower than that. Like you said, it only rewards one test score, however, and universities don’t brag about the number of NMF anymore. I too believe that the holistic process, looking at the entire student’s body of work makes more sense.

Maybe they erroneously thought that 20k still keeps it competitive with the UCLA/CAL’s cost of attendance. While I’d be happy to get 20k, it’s almost like spitting on a fire with the sky high cost of attendance.

That sucks, we dealt with that too. It’s like we’re refinancing a home or getting tax audited. Hope your daughter gets rewarded.

What time does it come out? Anybody know? I couldn’t even sleep last night lol! I live in CALIFORNIA.

According to admitium (IG) who called admissions, decisions will be rolling out throughout the day instead of dropping all at once.

That seems high.

Last year, I remember USC saying Presidential being around 200 kids and half of that for Trustee, so around 100+- .

Per USC Class Profile

Class of 2028 (Fall 2024)
New first-year students 3,489
USC Trustee Scholars (full tuition) 57
USC Presidential Scholars (half tuition) 334
USC Dean’s Scholars (quarter tuition) 164
Recipients of other USC merit scholarships 90

About 125-150 of those Pres scholars are NMF given in spring/summer and not part of EA merit decisions unless there is overlap (get scholarship and happen to be NMF, thus a bit of float in the figures).
