If housing opens before your decision and there is a possibility he will attend, he should def register for housing to get his spot (first come/first served). You get a time stamp (which is used to determine priority) when you register for housing and you can change choices anytime before housing reg closes without it affecting your time stamp. It’s something like $60 bucks to register which is non-refundable but so worth it if there is a chance he will attend. Register for housing as soon as it opens for best chance of first choice in housing. But also know there really isn’t bad housing, just different vibes/amenities in each of them.
Accepted students day at USC is very impressive! Highly recommended. D24 and us parents attended and USC does an incredible job with the whole production. They definitely know how to make students and families feel special.
USC doesn’t have an honors college like other schools. It does have an honors program called Thematic Option that all students can apply to. For Trustee, Presidential, and NMF scholarship recipients, they have the option to live in the McCarthy honor dorm. Dean’s and other lower amount scholarship recipients can also apply to live in McCarthy but they are not given priority.
Question regarding the BCA (Business of Cinematic Arts) major at USC. Does anyone know if this program is overly niche? If a student wanted to work in business outside of the film industry, would simply transferring to Marshall be better? And is that easy to do? Student I know is deciding upon USC BCA major vs UCLA BizEcon. No scholarship that I’m aware of.
If someone can move this post I would be fine with this as well.
Does anyone know, for the schools do not participate EA, when will merit scholarship result come out? thanks
I have the same question.
We do too! Also where would any merit show up on the portal?
So I saw on Reddit someone said April 1st. But that is the only thing I could find and do not know if it is accurate.
Does anyone know anything about the USC Parents Facebook group? I know there is only one that is official and I requested to join it two weeks ago. It looks like they haven’t added anyone in the past two weeks and my request says “pending.” I’m looking for feedback and could really use this group!
Does anyone know if students who want to register for housing and room with a specific student need to also have their contract in before they register? Also can they list more than one student if they want a four-student accommodation or only one?
This is the one I found: USC Class of 2029 - Parents | Facebook
Got housing set up this morning. Don’t forget!!
That one is run/managed by someone who is not affiliated with USC. Notice that the admin is affiliated with UCLA.
It is a public group which means that all of your friends will be able to see what you post.
The Official USC Facebook group has USC as the admin. They don’t accept you until after your student has enrolled.
Many FB groups don’t accept new members until after the student enrolls. What type of feedback are you looking for?
Hopefully you found this answer elsewhere, but you don’t need to know your roommate yet to register. You can add that later.
She already has a student to room with and was confused about how to make the group but they figured it out. Thank you!
Any idea when RD financial aid summaries are out?
If you are not applying/expecting need base aid, is it necessary to submit FAFSA/CSS?
No; I did not for S21
