Yes I do, personally. Have been very close to a few of them, some successful, some not.
Thanks. I have a friend who is not on CC. Her DS was denied. Nothing has changed since the denial but he appealed. My understanding is that appeals are rarely granted, and generally only when there had been an error in the original application (wrong test score submitted or a grade was reported incorrectly) or if something MAJOR happened between application and denial. I just hope she and her DS have realistic expectations on the appeal. It’s been really rough for them.
Totally understand how brutal it can be - had one very close to me that was rejected and appeal unsuccessful but was accepted in TTP. Then turned them down.
But it was an awful and long process. Learned a lot about appealing on that one, then helped someone else with their appeal which was successful. But frankly, they were one of those with a super emotional story that they just hadn’t communicated in a good manner and didn’t relate the things they went through and learned and how it would impact the USC experience well the first time (for both them and USC). Typical years it is only like 10-20 out of over 1000. After the scandal pre-covid, enrollment was way down, and they accepted more than ever thru appeal, but it is usually very slim odds. Generally it’s given to those with something really significantly different in the appeal than the first time around.
Thank you, what you summarized was my understanding. A tough year for many, all around!
Any idea if appeal decisions are supposed to be out today since the admissions office will be closed Thursday and Friday for Commencement?
Our DD’s appeal was accepted today!
That’s amazing news!!! So happy for you! Welcome to the Trojan Family!

My son’s appeal was accepted yesterday. He is overjoyed! We are hearing that lots of kids were accepted yesterday. I always thought that only 1% of appeals are accepted each year. Glad my son didn’t listen to me and decided to appeal anyway!! ![]()

My child was accepted off appeal too! What is everyone’s plan for fall? Anyone going overseas? Spring housing is also a concern since USC can’t guarantee on campus housing!
Congrats to all that got in via appeal! I don’t think we have ever had 3 on here like this…great news indeed!

Do you know which study abroad program is best as far as dorms, location and credit transfers?
How many got into Musical Theater BFA program?
You happen to know how many got into Musical theater program?
We don’t have a Class of 2030 thread yet.
I thought the admissions blog today was interesting.
USC is so full of nonsense… they are not admitting the kid in the “blog” in unless he has a 35+ ACT.
