USC Class of 2029 — Regular & Early Action Decisions

It is a big day because my understanding is that the only chance you have of getting a Merit Scholarship (unless you are an NMF) is, if one gets admitted today and that too, only 1/3rd of the admits. And Ofcourse not getting much from Financial Aid. There will be lots of people like this who would seriously consider withdrawing if not admitted today!!

Yes

But no email yet

I agree on this point. It must be that way for many schools. Being in that middle category is very discouraging from a school perspective. We have ruled out so many as there are no scholarships.

Sorry but the bar for need is really low. We live in a high cost town where mortgages are high and multiple cars are needed to get around. Plus we have a second child in school and we care for elderly on gov pension. None of that impacts fafsa enough to make us eligible for anything… other than a 5% loan…. Not a veteran or police or farmer. Not a minority. Not a national merit scholar… nothing else available.

There is merit scholarship panel interview later, probably will receive email end of January if you get picked. You need go through this to receive the merit scholarship. It is also competitive even you get EA acceptance.

Exactly and thats what I said too..Only 1/3rd of the EA Admits will even go through the Scholarship process and not sure how many will eventually get it. So, it’s going to be super tough for Merit Scholarships!

Any ideas on how many of the 41,000 applications may have already been withdrawn after students got into their ED choice? Does the number include those students?

This is exactly what I feel is happening.

anyone heard yet?

No news… We will probably hear at 7 pm EST.

someone with 1510 SAT, WGPA 5.46, WGPA 4/4 with great essays stand a chance?

Are we thinking 4pm Pacific time/7pm eastern time?

Is there any information out there about how many students get offered alternative admission options, such as Spring admission or Trojan Transfer? With fall admits being only 9% admit rate… one can’t help but wonder about the alternatives

Deferred.

got an email?

already came out for u?

No email. Just a portal status update.

What does update say?
